Don't let fear stop you -- it's really very safe from what I understand. More likely to get hit by a car.

Honestly I felt more safe in Cairo than I do on the streets of Chicago.

Egyptians LOVE Americans. I never met an Egyptian who wasn't smiling and thrilled to meet an American.

I would HIGHLY recommend a trip to Egypt. And yes, the driving/traffic is extremely dangrous- no traffic rules/regulations/signs/speed limits!!

PS I went to Ayman Al Zawahiri's old 'hood. Felt safe there too.

Cairo was the most disgusting city I have ever seen in my life, and I have been to over 40 different nations.
