I would LOVE to go, but I just can't see taking the risk. Good for you. I wish I had the guts to go.

Glad you're home safe! Darn, I've always wanted to visit Egypt and other places in the middle east. It just doesn't seem safe to me anymore...

Amazing country and, all in all, safe as compared to a large US city. My cousin recently toured there and raved about the people and the sites including a Nile cruise to Aswan. Says KET Travel (www.kettravel.com) was terrific -- great tours, best prices and nice folks ... but stay away from Mosques, especially on Friday evenings.

My dau's in-laws are there now. They couldn't reach them for awhile and it was very scary. They did get ahold of them and they were on the other side of the town.

Tell me if it is still the same as it was 15 years ago? Was there still the bediun town on the sea, or did the city grow out to the sea by now?

I was in the Gulf of Aquba earlier this month. I was surprised on how built up the Egyptian side was, especially compared to the Saudi side. It looked like it would be a really nice place to go.
