I heard nothing stirring in California regarding Myers like I do on this illegal issue.

This one is a sinker for the party if they keep appeasing criminals and their employers.

No need to vouch for me with them - nothing will convince them - I appreciate it though : )

Anyone "Republican" who stays home next November because he disagrees with W over imigration is helping ensure the election of Democrats. And, since Democrats advocate an even more liberal imigration policy, any Republican who helps them get into office is a dunce.

Yep. There's a choice of not doing a thing (voting Democrat or third party or staying home) or doing at least something (voting Republican). I'd rather settle for getting something done, rather than continue down the path of doing nothing.

I cannot advocate invading Mexico either.

You would rather have Americans give up rights (file emigration requests), liberties (register with county or state workforce administrations), and freedoms (CFR freedom of speech). If you are not willing to use military force to project American interests in Mexico, how do you justify Iraq and Afghanistan? You seem like an isolationist on Mexico, free trader on other countries. It does not work both ways. Demanding that the Republican party toe the line that Mexico dictates to us is what has the base livid. How about WE tell Mexico how much immigration we will allow? Novel idea I know, but roll it around in your cranium for a while. We tell Mexico how we the people want our elected government to secure our borders, and Mexico can agree or shut their border. Pretty simple.

Well, you can be awfully IRKSOME, but you're not an OBL troll. I can vouch for that much.

No one will win state wide office as a Republican who does not agree with what I will call the Dan Patrick position and expressly rejects the George Bush position on immigration.

I doubt that that's true. The number one issue for the vast majority of Texans is this school finance plan, currently under debate in a special session of the lege. If Perry gets one passed that is revenue neutral, he's a shoo-in for governor, as are Dewhurst, Abbott, and others on the Republican slate.

Most voters are not single-issue, nor is immigration their top priority.

"But enough of trying to explain reality to the residents of lala land."

Yep. I've had that feeling a lot during this thread. Lala land is where the people live who imagine that 10 million illegal aliens will be deported. Lala land is where the people live who imagine that any candidate who advocates the kind of crack down talked about here could ever be elected president. Lala land is where the people live who imagine that helping Republicans be defeated will make America a safer place or help us win the war on terror.

So it's merely a personal view on your part?

I recalled you were very concerned about priests and said you had assisted with giving communion to illegals ...

"I don't consider the current occupant of the White House "courageous"."

For one thing, he's the first president to take a bold stand against Islamic fascism. Yes, I'd say he's very courageous. But as Gary Cooper said three times in "High Noon" (another case of weak people abandoning their leader in his time of need) if I have to explain it to you then you'll never understand it.

[I thought this was supposed to be a speech about illegal immigration

If you were going to spout the "same ole" crap, with which none of your supporters agree, would you really want to get around to talking about it?

Yea, I thought of that about the time you posted. But I still say he will defend the border, or suffer negative political consequences. How's that?

Do you know what is the equivalent of impeachment for a governor in Texas?

Stop your rudeness about Ohio!!

What rudeness? Are you talking to me?!!

You're the one being rude. Read my post 241, then get back to me.

And as for ohio, I thought she was able to speak for herself.

Yep. That pretty much sums up the situation.

When I have a problem with Bush I think of Bill Clinton, I think of his wife. Suddenly the problem seems not so big.

Not voting in time of war is a dereliction of duty in the face of the enemy.

By the way, who ARE you to tell ME what to do or say?

You don't know me, and you're definitely getting off on the wrong foot.

Would someone please explain to me why we would even bother with a catch and release policy on OTMs. I'm not talking about the ones that come over here on Visas and stay but on the ones that they catch coming across from the Mexico border.

If they are crossing the Mexican Border into the United States then we should just send them back across. They should have stopped them at their borders. They are not our responbilites. Just send them right back on over. I bet that would stop a bunch from trying.

It would also pi$$ Fox off too.

...on which most Americans agree with the president.

Oh really? As for pulling the rug out from under Bush based on disagreement on a single issue, are you suggesting that our support of him on this issue would pull up his ratings? The Demonrats and the MSM have done a total number on him, and he did the rest.
