Freepers who continually try to pull the rug out from under President Bush over this issue are helping to ensure another decade of Democrat/socialist rule.

IOW bend over and grab 'em to ensure more of the same B.S. that is pissing us off now?

The principal talk show host Dan Patrick just won a 69% victory for state senate as a political novice in a 4 way race over 3 well known political officeholders with his No. 1 issue as "order on the border." He, like the vast majority of voters are LIVID with Bush over this issue.

I agree with your use of the word "livid." Our local Houston area congressman, John Culberson (R-TX), had a town hall meeting on immigration last week. The crowd was overwhelmingly for better border security and cheered a Minuteman who spoke briefly.

Culberson was worried that Bush's lax border security policy was letting in and had let in terrorists. He felt that if the border issue was explained in terms of the WOT that proponents of lax border policy had no comeback.

Hi onyx,
I don't think Drier was running in Orange County. AND I might add... John and Ken are just plain annoying.
They are right on about immigration, but they seem to bang away at the pubbies more than the Dims re: this issue. That cuts into their credibility for me... it's all about ratings for them.

And thusly, I shall depart this 'discussion'.......because one of us doesn't seem capable of rationally discussing things.......and it certainly isn't me.

There's another part of discussion that you forgot about: it's called listening. You may have "respect" for the President but you don't show it for fellow FReepers.

"John & Ken couldn't get David Dreir ousted from his Congressional seat and they TRIED."

An entrenched Republican in a Republican district beat a no-name Democrat, shunned by her own party, and outspent by the incumbent by over $1 million bucks to about 25 thousand bucks

BY THE SMALLEST MARGIN OF ALL CONGRESSIONAL ELECTIONS IN CALIFORNIA that year.

Onyx, the only political analyst who agrees with you is the leftist writer for the LA Times, Gregory Rodriguez.

Or maybe you actually are Mr. Rodriguez?

Sorry it was so confusing for you - since we are NOT getting the "exact same results that the Dims promise", I cannot agree with your conclusions. I kept donating and working on campaigns even after campaign finance reform.

I agree with you regarding J&K --- they go after the GOP office holders when in fact, they ought to be encouraging those guys in the Right direction.

Of course it (welfare) won't be eliminated, even for the able-bodied. My point is that when it didn't exist there were "no jobs Americans wouldn't do." And today, if there are some jobs Americans won't do, its the primary reason.

In case it isn't clear, short of "treason" I would never call for this President's impeachment.

He is dead right.. that dangerous reality should be brought out much more.

I wasn't at that town hall meeting, but I have heard Culberson speak on this subject before. Glad to hear that the crowd response was so positive. People who think that Priority No. 1 is supporting Bush, should give some thought to what it means that people on Bush's home turf have turned overwhelmingly against him, at least on this issue, and that this issue transcends almost all others, maybe even the war in Iraq.

Guen, those of us who have been on the board for a very long time, know who supported Bush. We cryed for Joy when he was elected, both times.

You are right, he wants to have it both ways. "He who wants to please all, pleases none".

The Republican Gov. candidate in Arkansas is one million dollars behind his Rat opponent in fund raising.

It's starting....:(

[I thought this was supposed to be a speech about illegal immigration. So far, it has been all about Iraq.]

Probably have not had enough time to teach him how to talk about immigration yet.

"There is no benefit in going against the will of 85% of the people on immigration."

If you think 85% of voters are opposed to W on this issue, then you haven't been paying attention to the polls.
