Bush's decision to speak here might prove an embarrassing miscalculation, said John J. Pitney
Maybe, if the uproar is loud enough, it will give Bush a good dose of reality -- that 70%+ are opposed to his amnesty (under any name) for illegals.

Then why aren't they working with the Senate to get a bill passed instead of complaining?

It would be wrong if we, the grassroots supporters, did not show support for the President if the President was not just executing the will of the people, as Presidents have had to do on rare occasions, but acted accordingly to his Constitutional duties and oath of office.
It is dimensionally different when the President seeks to act based on flawed policy not based on the law of our land but if his actions come to pass, will have advocated lawlessness and anarchy, exactly what the Constitution was ratified to prevent.
We are correct in showing disrespect for the President based on this and it will be right and proper to go beyond disrespect, to a much higher level of self government, as the Constitution allows, no, directs, in instances when the federal government, which is formed at the pleasure of the people, refuses to preserve and protect the Constitution in the defense of the USA.

WHAT IS WITH BUSH ON THIS ISSUE?
WHY isn't he enforcing the laws ON THE BOOKS NOW?
Surely he must realize by now that Mexico is NO friend of the U.S. and that this free for all immigrataion crap is down right dangerous to our nations security.
