Rev Phelps showed up at the funeral for Lance Cpl Settle, Eugene MO today (4/22/06) and was greeted by several hundred patriotic bikers, FReepers, and many Marines, Army, Air Force and Navy veterans. Phelps and his groupies were immediately surrounded by "the good guys" and blocked with large American flags, our signs and a human wall. When they attempted to sing their bs songs, several bikers pulled up beside them and revved the engines, effectively drowning them out.
Our county law enforcement officers and state Highway Patrol Troopers kept the peace but allowed us to peacefully block them.
I wish to thank StarCMC for her assistance in posting the pictures and hope they show the magnitude of the local turnout for our hero.
Dogrobber and Bluesagewoman came down from Columbia via motorcycle to help out and I hope they add to this brief report.
Pictures will follow shortly.

Thanks for doing a GREAT job. I hope I never have to go on another Patriot Guard mission, but I'll be there every time I can.
For those who may be interested in honoring those brave men and women who give their lives in the service to our country, sign up with
Patriot Guard Riders and they will keep you informed about services in your area. Or, at least the Texas leadership emails each of us when a mission in planned for the area. I assume the other state leaders do the same.
You DO NOT have to ride a motorcycle to join. They are just looking for patriots who want to honor these heroes.

This man is a disgrace, to put it mildly. I say FReep the hell out of these evil little pschitts.

A special thanks to you and the Patriot Guard Riders. They were very visable yesterday with the yellow banners on the windshields. I was proud to get to talk to a group of them early on.

Just to be clear, I was not at Lance Cpl Settle's funeral. I'm just passing info about the PGR on to anyone who may be interested.
