Enemy of the State Returns (Dick Turbin)

Enemy of the State Returns - Saturday, April 22, 2006 @ 9:17:09 AM

Having apparently recovered from the national backlash he suffered after comparing Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to a Nazi death camp (and the intellectual thrashings he suffered at the hands of John Roberts and Samuel Alito) Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois wants to return to center stage. The strong rumor is that he will introduce a "no confidence" resolution aimed at Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld as soon as the Senate returns next week. (It has apparently escaped Durbin that we don't have a parliamentary system of government in which such resolutions have the effect - if passed - of removing the target from government.)

This comes as a bit of a shock to other Dems eager for the publicity it can generate for Durbin. Schumer -- Little Miss Gun Control -- will be simply seething. And it's going to be very interesting to see how many Dems jump to support it other than Russ "Censure" Feingold. Will Rumsfeld's cloaked Republican adversary - the one whose staffer attacks via anonymous quotes in the NYT - be revealed?

Too bad these guys spend all their time attacking Rumsfeld with nary a harsh word directed at people like Zarqawi.

Looks to be a busy week coming for the attack poodles nipping at the Big Dog's ankles. Stay tuned.

I leave Illinois to get away from Turbin and I get Feingold. Turds of a feather.

Durbin might get a few more than Feingold did but that's not saying much. They just don't seem to be able to get together on anything but bashing and that's not going to cut it. Hope they don't change anything, it's fun to watch.

Turbin is needed on his home front.
Illinois, a State shrinking in population, jobs, with businesses leaving but none putting up camp is in dire need of leadership which Turbin so obviously and consistently fails to deliver.
Strong Unions, strong trial lawyers, a corrupt Dem political machine in Chicago are detriments to keep and attract businesses.
Turbin is the entrenched local wheeler dealer but then escapes by seeking fame and diversion in Washington.

Speaking of one of our Co-Senate Troop slanderers (tied with Kennedy & Kerry)...

While he's busy deflecting attention to Rummy, I'd like to know more about this polygraph he's said to have been asked to take? About leaking highly classified national security information.

Go public Turbin. Put yourself in the limelight. It's make it easier to target you for an answer.

The Senate brought this upon themselves. They should have hammered "The Turban" Durbin hard after his Guantanamo Bay comments. But instead all he had to do was "apologize" and that wiped the slate clean. I expect even more outrageous comments to come out his mouth.

Durbin and Jay Rockefeller are involved up their necks in the CIA leaks.

Rumor around the blogs is that both of these Senators and their staffs have been polygraphed and investigated.

Most things escape Durbin. This is just another cheap Democrat stunt. Every Democrat on the Intelligence Committee or who gets x briefings of classified material should be polygraphed.
