"Impoverished" ?? Of course it would be socially impermissible and downright rude to even hint that this is a very misleading term. Impoverished implies it is not their fault, as if some outside force (say, from Mars) has forced them to be poor. Dare we mention that the leaders of this "impoverished" country choose social, economic and political policies that guarantee poverty and prevent prosperity?
