Just breaking on Fox...

No details, but the agent was caught dead to rights leaking....

Update: CIA Officer Fired for Leaking Classified Info to Media

WASHINGTON — A CIA officer has been relieved of his duty after being caught leaking classified information to the media.

CIA officials will not reveal the officer's name, assignment, or the information that was leaked. The firing is a highly unusual move, although there has been an ongoing investigation into leaks in the CIA.

One official called this a "damaging leak" that deals with operational information and said the fired officer "knowingly and willfully" leaked the information to the media and "was caught."

I am pretty sure I am right. According to a source close to the investigation there are dozens of investigations going on right now, and the spokesperson for the CIA said "This is only the beginning". I think it is very possible Plame is being investigated for her actions and her mouse of a husband Joe Wilson. She retired recently and she can be charged at anytime for something illegal she did as an agent. Fitzgerald is not investigating Plame, so a parallel investigation can be launched against her and I would bet my monthly pay, she is under very close investigation right now.

Libby and Rove if indicted will have a very strong defense that rogue agents were trying to undermine Bush and the war on terror.

What are the other responsibilities of the CIA IG's office? Review and analysis of data related to mobile labs?

In the DOD/CIA/DIA apparatus in one was going to disrupt a function, IMO, it would be the IG's office. They are in a position to bless or not the quality of backup related to any sort of analysis. I would be interested in knowing what hand this person had in concurrence or not of determinations made related to actionable intelligence.

I do not tink he is pissed that an agent was nabbed. I think he is pissed because there was a small group of rogue agents trying to undermine the president of the united states when we are at war. Sedition is a possible charge here. Extremely serious. People are going to fall and I will not be surpised when the trail leads to democratic party and senators Rockefeller, Durbin and others.

Your reporting is correct. I have read that other places today too. However, I was only reporting what was written by CNN.

My main reason for quoting CNN was the sentence I highlighted. WHich was: "This is just the beginning," said Neff.

Neff apparently is a CIA spokeswoman.

So, are they going to rip the Pulitzer Price off of the mantle of this ditz that got it for this story? Having a brain burp, can't remember her name, but clearly she got the information from this jerk. (Dana Priest?)

And I want to see the CIA idjit serve a long time in jail and dished out a heavy fine for his leaking of classified information!!! No more Sandy Burglar rap on the knuckles, I hope.

My understanding that are the internal agency that investigates leaks and illegal activity of agents within the CIA. Just like an internal affairs department from a police departments.

This is very serious and since the person comes from this office, this is very bad for the democrats. This agent was trusted to investigate others and their wrong doings and this person was doing the same. This is going to go very deep.

MSM covering this up with a conveniently timed headline:

Ex-CIA agent says WMD intelligence ignored (according to a 60 Minutes expose)

Do a google search on CIA and that is what you get as of 3 PM Pacific Time.

Oh absolutely! I agree- he is furious about this even taking place...I'm sure there were days (ala Clinton) if this happened- the outcome would have been different.

Porter Goss says "Other leak investigations are underway" ..

Then Bret Baier said there are DOZENS of other investigations about leaks...AND the case has been turned over to the Feds for possible prosecution!

I surely hope you're right...it's way past time for people to go DOWN for this behavior.

Pres Bush - Karl (Rove), I'm moving you out of this. You're a great adviser, but you're not a war time consigliere. We are going to have to do some things we don't want you to be a part of. Go help us win some elections. I'll call you back when things settle down.

Thanks. Weak attempt, huh?
This is Friday.
Porter Goss will see to it that this news has legs.
WP can't deny it either.
