Just breaking on Fox...
No details, but the agent was caught dead to rights leaking....
Update: CIA Officer Fired for Leaking Classified Info to Media
WASHINGTON A CIA officer has been relieved of his duty after being caught leaking classified information to the media.
CIA officials will not reveal the officer's name, assignment, or the information that was leaked. The firing is a highly unusual move, although there has been an ongoing investigation into leaks in the CIA.
One official called this a "damaging leak" that deals with operational information and said the fired officer "knowingly and willfully" leaked the information to the media and "was caught."
There are many posts on this thread dealing with the secret prison story being false.
Do we know if was false or was she reporting secret info that damaged national security?
YES, YES, YES!!!
Finally.
...and BTW, I'd like to buy an advance ticket to the public hanging.
:O)
P
I just saw a blurb on the MSNBC ticker..that Teddy Kennedy is going to be on MTP on Sunday...
I think they INSIST on having a MAJOR dem on every single week...sheesh.
Oh...and when we e-mail the networks...we also need to included the Dem, Mollohan that had to step down from the Ethics Committee today...because of "alleged" ethics violations...LOL
How cool would it be if it's Plame.
AWESOME NEWS!!
Thanks a million for the heads-up.
To the wall at sun rise, with a cig if he still smokes.
"If Rockefeller's named, what would be his punishment? He'd probably huff and puff and say he'd done nothing wrong...he's a patriot"
I keep wondering how he managed to cut a deal with Turkey to block our troops from going there there
I bet he takes it up again if he's quit.
By the way, I anxuously await word from Condi that "multiple investigations" are underway at communist-central, aka, the State Department. Those traitors have GOT to GO.
I believe THIS is the beginning of the major shakeup that the scumbag Democrats so feared about a Bush re-election.
Well that's a good question.
I know that -I- don't know if it's true or false. I know some guy in Europe said it wasn't true.
If my contention is right and it was a setup sting, than the story is likely false. Still the CIA guy, if the sting was done correctly, would have thought it was very true and so would the reporter taking the info.
Now whether a reporter could go to jail for breaking the intelligence law over fabricated sting story, I dunno. At any rate I don't think any of the drive-by media will ever see any jail time over any of their stories. The PR is just too damning and besides, stop the leaks at the professionals who are PAID to keep it quiet and no need to lock up the drive-by.
Which is not to say I wouldn't like to see some of them spend time behind bars, I just don't see it happening. The Moonbats will be out and about and claiming the U.S. is no better than China. For now I think they're mainly going after the government leakers.
Speaking of someone quittng

The top Democrat on the House ethics committee, Alan Mollohan, will leave the panel -- at least temporarily -- while he defends his own financial conduct, Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi said Friday.
Mollohan's decision comes in an election year when his party is accusing majority Republicans of allowing a "culture of corruption" in Congress.

It does not matter. The only consideration is how much harm was done. Kinda like with the Pollard guy. Divulging classified information to anyone else (even if the person "knows" that the other party is authorized) is the crime. The punishment increases substantially if harm is proven. This person is screwed, blued, and tattooed. They will be safer in general population with a big sign that says "Short Eyes". There is no witness protection inside. And there is no whistleblower provision for this kind of deal where there was NO request for review. This person was an insider.
HeHe, maybe Mollohan will get a comfy cell next to Duke Cunningham ;o)
Patrick Fitzgerald is probably upset that he wasn't assigned to a grand jury investigation on this guy. Could have amounted to at least 5 years more of tenure.
Just got home- this is great! Can't wait to see the fallout.
Me, either!
