Winkipedia? Opinion based resource. This is a resource anyone can go into and change or add whatever they want....not a good factual resource.

Thinking in terms of my own orientation, I know I didn't make a "decision" to be straight. I'm attracted to men, and physically interested in men, and always have been. If "normal" society meant I was expected only to be with other women, I could DO it; I could go through the motions, but it would not change my basic interest. I could decide never to have sex with men, but it wouldn't suddenly make me genuinely interested in women.

Here's something we can agree on then:
`It's all just a part of this rich tapestry that we call life.'
I'm adopting that catch-phrase from now on in all threads requiring normative judgments.
Good weekend FRiend, it's back to work for me.

Gosh, you guys are a bunch of swell people....homosexuals now have "emotional and mental disorders" and should be barred from serving as judges? Are you kidding me.
Good grief.

Bwahahahaha ... well hidden 'judge not that yye may be judged', poster. And that is a hallmark of liberal minds of democrat apologists for degeneracy, as you could recall from the public apologetics for the degenerate bill clinton when his degeneracy became public knowledge. Sexual abuse of children and suppression of women is also part of the tapestry, by your method of reckoning. No thanks ...

So you're saying that we should always act on our interests and desires, even if they contradict nature? That kind of attitude makes for a very scary society. Some desires are better off repressed--both for the sake of the individual and society at large.

Linda....

They do have a choice as far as overcoming those abnormal feelings of smae sex attraction and to not engage in the abnormal behavior of those feelings.

Courage? Oh, please. There is no courage in trumpeting the cause of a disgusting and harmful lifestyle that is looked upon approvingly by 90% of the major media and a similar percentage of our degenerate elites.

Homosexuality was once considered abnormal by psychiatrists. Of course that was before the, "I'm Okay - You're Okay" no judgments allowed, revolution in our society and in the medical professions.

We should probably bring back lobotomies and electroshock therapy, too, as long as it's so desirable to go back to the Old Days of psychiatry. :)

Apparently you don't love anyone who is gay. If you did, might see how ludicrious it is to say they have a choice in the matter. That is all I have to say on the subject, normally I don't post about this issue, because it's personal for me and I can draw fire that I just don't need. God bless you.

Now that you bring it up, lobotomies would be an excellent way to deal with capital criminals so they wouldn't be executed at costs of millions to the taxpayers ... lobotomize the perps and make leaf rakers and toilet cleaners and laundry carriers out of them, etc., instead of keeping (feeding, housing, guarding, and coddling) them on deathrow for decades while they get one phony appeal after another.

The choice is in the behavior, not the condition. They can choose to overcome the abnormal same sex feelings and choose not to engage in same sex.

...Of course not. But, now address the 'No judgments allowed in our modern society' portion of my comment. (And yes, psychiatry has had and still has many problems)

Judgments are definitely allowed, on behaviors that are non-consensual and damaging to others. Psychiatrists will tell you that pedophilia is a deeply rooted compulsion, and very hard to treat successfully.

Apparently you don't love anyone who is gay.

Loving someone who is 'gay' does not equal enabling them in such a destructive, unhealty, dangerous lifestyle. That would not be my chosen way of displaying "love" for someone close to me who had embraced the deathstyle.

If you did, might see how ludicrious it is to say they have a choice in the matter.

I can guarantee you I wouldn't. I've known plenty of gays in my life. For every one of them, it was a choice. For some of them, the choice seemed 'right' because of sex abuse they had suffered in their youth or a bad relalationship with someone of the opposite sex. Of course, that's not how they tearfully portray it to their parents, siblings or on daytime talk shows.

That is all I have to say on the subject, normally I don't post about this issue, because it's personal for me and I can draw fire that I just don't need.

I understand where you're coming from. Unfortunately, part of the "gay" rights movement has been to declare emotional warfare on the families of individuals with same-sex attractions. To force them into the position where they must either accept--even embrace--their child's "lifestyle choice", or else never have any contact with them. For some parents, particularly those who have only one or two children, they simply can't accept such a break.

God bless you.

May he bless you and your loved one as well.
