Novak: Feds know who outed CIA agent
Chicago Sun Times ^ | April 20, 2006 | DAVE NEWBART Staff Reporter

Robert Novak said Wednesday that special counsel Patrick Fitzgerald knows who outed a CIA agent to the Chicago Sun-Times columnist but hasn't acted on the information because Novak's source committed no crime.

On the midterm elections this November, Novak said it was "possible, not probable" that Democrats would retake control of the House of Representatives. But he said the Republicans and their leader are in trouble.

Despite the historically large gap between Republican and Democratic voters on whether they approve of the job Bush is doing or the war in Iraq, Lyn Ragsdale, head of UIC's political science department, agreed that "there is not going to be a huge seat swing in 2006."

What exactly are they paying Novak for over at Fox News?

I've seen him turn in exactly ONE appearance to date on Brit Hume's "All-Star Panel." It was slow death.

Its a good thing for Bush that he isn't using his authority as President to engage in sexual relations with the interns. He has a special prosecutor nosing around the building with nothing to go after.

And the source committed no crime because (drumroll), Plame WASN'T A COVERT AGENT at the time in the first gold dang place.

This whole thing is based on NOTHING.

"If he knows the source, why didn't he indict him? Because no crime was committed."

"President Bush is not what I would call a skilled politician."

Interesting...

Novak initiated the investigation? Its all his fault?

He gave his word not to reveal his source. That is the way reporters operate. If he revealed his source he wouldn't have any more sources.

Bread and circuses in both cases. For Clinton it was to cover treason. For Bush, it's to placate the infantile, frothing liberals.

If Pat thinks no crime was committed by "outing" Valerie, then it looks like he is simply running a good ole Perjury Sting.

You go to your source for release of their name.....If they don't give their release, then you tell your readers that the source will NOT allow the release......Then you write about how awful the investigation is going!!

I still believe that Wilson's OPEDs leak classified information...Somehow the Bush team has turned that act into a 3 year investigation on themselves.

Also of interest, why didn't Novak's source release him?
