This very article may be a hoax, but any writer that can combine Max Headroom and Roswell deserves a mention.

Maybe one day we will see the original "badly damaged" footage, instead of the recreated footage?

Hope that the owners of Smithfield markets don't mind a little free publicity!

John Humphreys, a sculptor and consultant on Alien Autopsy who has also worked on special effects for Doctor Who.....

I've seen footage from the autopsy film, and the "special effects" are about as convincing as those on Dr. Who. This guy shouldn't quit his day job.

So now, I suppose, crop circles will be next to be exposed as being faked.

Is nothing sacred anymore, like Nessy, or Big Feet?

I loved Max Headroom - it was just ahead of its time. Had it been made ten years later and aired on the WB or UPN, it might have become a runaway hit.

Fake but accurate!

I remember watching the alien autopsy show late one night (I was working night shift and had trouble adjusting back to daytime hours). Thought it was pretty cheesy but fun, in an Art Bell sort of way.

"finally been exposed"!? The Skeptical Inquirer magazine could have renamed itself "The Magazine Devoted to Debunking the 'Alien Autopsy' Video From Every Single Angle" for six months immediately after it was shown here in the U.S.

The Skeptical Inquirer featured an interview with an FX expert shortly after that stoopid special came out, showing how easy it was to create an alien and its innards.

On the topic of debunking pseudoscientific hoaxes, Stan Winston (the multiple Oscar-winning fx genius behind Jurassic Park, Aliens, The Terminator and many, many moore) once appeared on television to debunk the infamous Patterson "Bigfoot" footage. He said it was a man in an ape suit that was so crappily designed, he would have instantly fired anyone in his shop who tried to hoist it on him.

Those of us of a skeptical inclination are not surprised by this, but I'm sure that the reality-based community is disappointed to learn that the aliens weren't for real :-)

Rather than being shot in 1947 near Roswell in the New Mexico desert as previously claimed, the film was actually made at a flat in Camden, north London, in 1995.
I guess that explains all the folks who claimed to have seen the same footage as a work of fiction back in the 1960s. ;')
