I wanted to mention three "fairy" types/FAMOUR FAIRIES I omitted for space reasons..

Sugar Plum Fairy (from nutcracker).... this one is near/dear to me as when I was growing up until about 20 I was a dancer & in the forerunner of the Cleveland Ballet. My first major solo was the sugar Plum Fairy! I Love the music & try each Christmas holiday to see the ballet.

Puck - in midsummer's night dream.. (I also danced in it)

Movies with fairies.. etc.. LOTR, and many others.

I KISSed the subject more or less & of course more women seem to be interested in this subject.. maybe it isn't "manly?"

You say that many men are not into fairies which I would say in general is true but Phil loves the flower fairies and also many other drawings of that type I would assume that is his love art probably more than the actual subject.

It was really Walt Disney who made me aware of fantasy things like Tinker Bell, Peter Pan and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The intro to his show used to show all the characters. Tinker Bell sticks in my mind the most from that intro.

By the time I was four or five I suspected the tooth fairy and Santa weren't real. I used to try to stay awake at night to catch my father putting money under my pillow when I would lose a tooth, but I never did catch him.

I remember looking through a Sears catalog to pick out Christmas gifts for myself and my mother and father telling me that they had to pay for the items. That blew the Santa theory out of the water for me. I remember asking them that if Santa brought the gifts then why did they have to pay for them. They knew and I knew the jig was up right then and there.

I never was really interested in the subject of fairies per se..just the fantasy and dress up when little. I did not have Disney! I just liked pretty "make believe"..
