Preacher Zola Levitt dies Known for 'Pray for the peace of Jerusalem'
Zola Levitt Jewish Christian preacher Zola Levitt died today after battling cancer, according to his ministry website.
Levitt, known for the tagline, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem," had a television program seen on the several Christian networks, "Zola Levitt Presents."
He died at home in Dallas, where he led the non-profit Zola Levitt Ministries, Inc.
Levitt was diagnosed with cancer Feb. 10, which had spread from his left lung to his liver and brain, according to his son, Mark Levitt, who posted updates on the ministry website.
Mark Levitt said in a recent post that that in response to the illness, his father was "doubling his efforts to produce extra TV programs and create more informative and outspoken newsletters than ever."
"What a soldier's testimonial to stay at his post until called away by Yeshua! Happy is the man whose work is his play," Mark Levitt wrote.
Responding to today's news, a follower of Levitt's ministry wrote: "I praise the Lord for the life He granted to Zola; for Zolas willingness to be used by God in great ways; for the thousands of lives he touched through his ministry and music; and for the grace and peace of knowing that Zolas reward can be ours, too, someday."
In the summer of 1985, I accepted Christ and He delivered me from a decade of drug abuse and alcoholism.
I had no church home for several months, and my only real opportunity to learn was directly from my Bible and from some TV ministries, among which Zola's was by far my favorite.
I remember once he had a scale model of the wilderness tabernacle in studio, and he meticulously described each detail. I was fascinated. He was a superb teacher, and I learned much from him.
He produced so many great shows. I really hope the State of Israel honors him for being such a wonderful friend and supporter.
Actually, the peace of Jerusalem that scripture means is the Messiah...and He's coming, so the prayer is not unanswered. There will be peace when the Prince of Peace is ruling and reigning from Jerusalem. It's not unanswered, just not yet fulfilled.
OK, fair enough

That's a great testimony, Skooz. Thanks for sharing it. - OB1
Soon, soon...
God bless you Skooz.
God bless you Skooz.
Thanks!
Shaalu Shalom Yerushalayimb'shem Y'shua
I always found his programs to be very interesting.
He will be missed.
RK> They should have his picture next to "unanswered prayers" in encyclopedias.

It would have been better for his family and followers in truth it is a graduation ceremony to a better place. Who knows? Isaiah 57:2 Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; Some don't realize that death is a graduation ceremony.
Mrs. XeniaSt
to have him here on Earth...
it is better for him to be at peace and asleep in the Lord.
In our "humanness" we see death as the END...
He may have escaped something terrible coming upon the Earth,
that the rest of us won't... IMHO Isaiah 57:1 The righteous perish, and no-one ponders it in his heart;
devout men are taken away, and no-one understands that the
righteous are taken away to be spared from evil.
they find rest as they lie in death.
Sad news.
Actually it is.

May he RIP.
