In addition, last year an Arab American Senator, John Sununu (R-NH) presided over the Senate Foreign Relations Committee confirmation hearing of Arab American Dina Habib Powell to serve as Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs.

Don't forget that formere Senator Spencer Abraham (R-MI), the Secretary of Energy, is Lebanese Arab (Christian though, so is Abizaid).
Sununu is Palestinian, btw.....
