The issue is: Should merely being a member of a religion automatically disqualify a person from certain offices? When expressed in the broadest terms, the answer is "no."

Are we at war with all Islam, as some urge? No. We are at war with groups of people who are Muslim and are dedicated to our destruction. That does not include admirals in the Royal Navy.

Come on--don't you think this man wouldn't have been vetted when he was a lower officer? Do you think the British are that stupid?

And do you really think all Muslims are our enemy? If you do, you're wasting an opportunity to have the "moderate" Muslims kick out the radicals.
