Dean Response to Indiana Court Ruling on Voter ID
Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean today issued the following statement on Indiana's voter identification law, one of the most stringent in the country:
"Today, I join Democrats in Indiana and throughout America in expressing my profound disappointment over the federal court ruling on Indiana's voter identification law. While Democrats are working to protect the fundamental right of all Americans to vote and have their votes counted, Indiana Republicans have joined national Republicans in pursuing unfair voter ID laws that disproportionately prevent countless poor, minority, elderly, rural, disabled and student voters from casting their ballots.
"Indiana's voter ID law, widely regarded as one of the most restrictive in America, creates unfair obstacles that will prevent citizens who are lawfully eligible to vote from casting their ballots. I applaud the Indiana Democratic Party's decision to appeal this ruling. As part of our Party's commitment to doing whatever we can to ensure that all Americans have the opportunity to participate in our democracy, the DNC will assist the Indiana Democratic Party's legal challenge to this unfair law and continue our fight to make it easier for all Americans to exercise their right to vote."

Me too!
And as the inspector at my local polling place, I will enforce it!
Especially to people who ask for a democratic ballot!

Just another example of the dems having NO idea how they are preceived. It is just common sense to require ID or proof of citizenship and residence before allowing someone to vote. It prevents fraud. Dean just can't see that by opposing such measures he associates (as if it wasn't already) the democrat party with fraud.

How is showing a card that Identifies the holder as who they say they are unfair?

Here in Memphis, we are finally getting something done about dead voters, people using vacant lots, even out of state people voting.
This very day our state senators will be putting a cheater out of office and replacing her with the rightful winner.

I understand there are free picture ID's available and they are being heavily marketed in the run up to the primary.

Yo, dean, show me one, just ONE, legal registered voter who does not have an ID of some sort.

I remember being stunned the first few times I voted and had to produce no identification. You have to use your ID to use the public restroom these days but don't need one to vote? Way to go Hoosiers (I hate Myles Brand).

Let me guess.
the cheater is a democrat.
To: Sub-Driver
Maybe the Repubs need to stop trying to fight fair. Maybe they should try to out cheat the cheaters. That will make the Dims want to "fix the system". Nothing dumber than taking a rock to a gun fight.

Georgia passes such a law last year, and a Judge found portions of it illegal, so this year Georgia amended the law to allow NO FEE (free) IDs for people with no drivers's licenses. The Libs are claiming the the poor and elderly just cannot get into the DMV to get the ID. My argument: If they can come in to vote, why can't they come in to get the ID? Could it be that either they don't exist, are not alive, or a RAT provides them with an absentee ballot and helps them fill it out?

Yes I've heard radio commercials advertising free IDs in Indianapolis.
