"'Human bomb' on prowl, airports beef up security"
Reuters
New Delhi, May 12, 2006

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "A "human bomb" could attempt to hijack a plane in India, intelligence agencies have warned.

The warning has prompted security forces to seek state-of-the-art body scanners, an official said on Friday.

"There is a real possibility of a terrorist inserting RDX or plastic explosives or even a knife into his skin," a top official of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) said.

Intelligence agencies had also warned that airports and dockyards were "targets number one" for terrorists.

CISF has asked the government to allow installation of human body scanners at 16 airports in the country categorised as "hypersensitive", the official said.

"Traditional scanners cannot look under the skin so we have decided to go for body scanners," he said.

These scanners use advanced X-Ray technology to draw a skeletal image of a human body and are considered to be a "fool-proof" measure against hijacking.

"Terrorists are coming out of Kashmir and targeting all over India," the official said, referring to recent terror attacks on Varanasi and Bangalore.

Earlier this week, police said three LeT terrorists arrested in Aurangabad with a huge cache of weapons and explosives were planning to attack the Kandla Port."

Cindy, I think it was at least a year ago. But, I honestly can't remember. I just recall how utterly gross it sounded at the time.

"Illegals Caught at BWI, Released"
The Washington Times

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Federal authorities late last week detained and later released eight illegal aliens from Mexico who authorities said were acting suspiciously near a gate at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

Officials said the illegals were detained Saturday morning near Gate D3, a Northwest Airlines gate, after federal air marshals noticed them gathered in the area with no carry-on luggage."

The following is a thread I found from 2005 here on (of course) FR, regarding the mysterious fiber illness...and this was in California.

Mystery Illness Baffles Doctors; Frustrates Patients

SAUSALITO -- Is an unknown disease hitting the Bay Area or is it just a case of mass delusion? If you ask intensive care nurse Cindy Casey she'll tell you that the mystery disease is very real and very painful...

Do you know if the disease is heavy in the area that the space ship crashed?

There was a lady scientist from India on that space ship, that had been doing experiments on several things.

People were warned to not touch any parts of the ship, as the parts were collected.

They said the results of her tests had been sent back, via, computer, before the crash.

The human astronauts died in the Space Shuttle Columbia crash but not the experimental little nematode blood worm parasites onboard called Caenorhabditis elegans, that were found still alive in the crash debris on May 1st, 2003!

Caenorhabditis elegans survives atmospheric breakup of STS-107, space shuttle Columbia.

To validate CeMM for use during spaceflight, we grew animals using CeMM and standard laboratory conditions onboard STS-107, space shuttle Columbia.

Tragically, the Columbia was destroyed while reentering the Earth's atmosphere. During the massive recovery effort, hardware that contained our experiment was found. Live animals were observed in four of the five recovered canisters, which had survived on both types of media.

These data demonstrate that CeMM is capable of supporting C. elegans during spaceflight. They also demonstrate that animals can survive a relatively unprotected reentry into the Earth's atmosphere, which has implications with regard to the packaging of living material during space flight, planetary protection, and the interplanetary transfer of life.

"New Details on Explosion at Wynnewood Oil Refinery"
Posted: May 12, 2006 04:27 PM
"New details on the explosion that occured at a Wynnewood oil refining company today. KTEN's Andrea Kurys was at the scene in Garvin County earlier this afternoon."

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Officials on the scene were not letting any traffic through the small town of Wynnewood. Firefighters told KTEN that they were doing house-to-house evacuations of the immediate area near the fire. Residents east of the refinery and south of Oklahoma 29 make up about half the town's population of 2500 people.

Early reports indicate an alkaline unit exploded at the Gary Williams Energy Corporation. Thick black smoke could be seen from miles away, and officials shut down highways leading into the town."
