OPINION: If you've ever been unfortunate enough to be acquainted with child molesters; you mighht revise your opinion.
That said, I would have to see the fine details of any bill attempting to pass before agreeing that it is a good thing. The "fine details" aka add ons to a bill can be quite breath-taking.

MOSCOW, May 11 (RIA Novosti) - Iran's foreign minister has taken over as the Iranian co-chairman of a bilateral Russian-Iranian trade and economic cooperation commission, the Russian nuclear power agency said.
An agency news release said Iran had informed Russia that the main role in the commission would be transferred from the Economics and Finance Ministry to the Foreign Ministry, and that Manouchehr Motaki would take up the position of chairman.
Agency head Sergei Kiriyenko, the Russian co-chairman of the commission, met an Iranian delegation Thursday to discuss the initiative.
Iran stands accused of pursuing a covert nuclear weapons program, a charge it denies. The Islamic Republic says it is enriching uranium for use in nuclear power plants to generate electricity, and that it has the right to do so under international treaties.

Moscow - Senior Russian and Iranian officials met in Moscow Thursday to discuss completion of the nuclear power plant at Bushehr and a proposal to enrich uranium in Russia for use in Tehran's civil nuclear power industry.
Sergei Kiriyenko, the head of Russia's nuclear power agency Rosatom, hosted the meeting with Iranian ambassador Gholamreza Ansari and Mohammad Saeedi, deputy head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.
Saeedi said before leaving Tehran that he wanted to discuss 'fuel deliveries to the Bushehr nuclear power plant and a final date for its physical launch.'
The first reactor of the station is almost 90-per-cent ready, according to the Russian Atomstroieksport company that is carrying out the work. Construction was due to be finished by the end of this year.
Kiriyenko said deliveries of Russian fuel to the plant would take place six months before the unit is powered up.
The United States is highly critical of Russia's cooperation with Iran and says the technology is being used in a secret weapons programme.
Russia says the work, including measures for the return of spent fuel, complies fully with international law.
The sides were also expected to discuss Moscow's proposal for the long-term enrichment of fuel in Russia for Iran as a solution to the crisis around Tehran's nuclear programme.
Earlier talks brought no breakthrough when Iran said it would continue developing a full fuel cycle at home.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Igor Ivanov, warned that any military action against Iran 'will lead to consequences that may seriously blow up the situation in the region and outside it.'
The crisis could only be effectively resolved through reaching a consensus in the United Nations Security Council, he told journalists in Moscow.

International Christian Concern calls for WTO boycott of Vietnam after another Christian dies in a Vietnamese prison

VIETNAM (ANS) -- The Washington-DC based human rights group, International Christian Concern (ICC) www.persecution.org, is calling for a boycott of Vietnam in the World trade Organization following the death of another Vietnamese Christian, Siu Lul (a Montagnard), who succumbed to the effects of food and water deprivation and torture in a Vietnamese prison.
ICC says Siu Lul was 62 years old and from the village of Ploi Kueng, Habong commune, Cu Se District, Gia Lai Province. He had been held at the Ha Nam Prison facility since 2004, where he experienced deprivation of food and water, beatings, and torture by the prison authorities. Prison authorities wanted the family to take his body back to his village, but his family did not have money to pay for transportation, so he was buried in Ha Nam.
The group states there are still over 350 Montagnard prisoners of conscience who remain imprisoned in Vietnam’s brutal prison system. Vietnam has brutally suppressed the Montagnard Christians for decades and Siu Lul was not the first Christian to die a slow death at the hands of the Vietnamese authorities.
Vietnam's treatment of its Christians is the reason they remain on the State Department’s CPC (Country of Particular Concern) list and were "re-elected" to that list by the State Department just this month.
Vietnam is currently seeking entry into the WTO (World Trade Organization).
As a result of Vietnam's continued massive human rights abuses towards Christians, and their refusal to cooperate with the UN Human Rights Committee which has tried to get access to prisoners of conscience, ICC is calling for a boycott of Vietnam from the WTO.
ICC says: "At the heart of this argument is the carrot or the stick dilemma. Many people say that Vietnam will change through more acceptance into the world body and through greater economic integration. Senators John McCain and John Kerry are key proponents of this approach and have blocked efforts in the US Senate to hold Vietnam accountable for its actions in the past.
"While we don’t necessarily disagree with this approach in the long term, it has meant oppression, torture, and death for Vietnamese Christians in the short term. Siu Lul was one such casualty of this approach."
ICC would argue that both the carrot and the stick are needed in dealing with nations like Vietnam. Now is the time for the stick.
ICC wishes to thank The Montagnard Foundation for its continued support of the oppressed Montagnards of Vietnam and for the information of Siu Lul's death.

An oil pipeline exploded Friday in Nigeria and up to 200 people are feared dead, a local television station reported.
Nigeria's Channels Television reported the fiery blast came as villagers flocked to a ruptured conduit at Ilado town outside the main city of Lagos to scoop up fuel gushing out. Up to 200 may have perished in the explosion, the station said. There was no immediate confirmation.
Doctors puzzled over bizarre infection surfacing in South Texas (5/11/06)
If diseases like AIDS and bird flu scare you, wait until you hear what's next. Doctors are trying to find out what is causing a bizarre and mysterious infection that's surfaced in South Texas.
Morgellons disease is not yet known to kill, but if you were to get it, you might wish you were dead, as the symptoms are horrible.
"These people will have like beads of sweat but it's black, black and tarry," said Ginger Savely, a nurse practioner in Austin who treats a majority of these patients.
Patients get lesions that never heal.
"Sometimes little black specks that come out of the lesions and sometimes little fibers," said Stephanie Bailey, Morgellons patient. Patients say that's the worst symptom — strange fibers that pop out of your skin in different colors. "He'd have attacks and fibers would come out of his hands and fingers, white, black and sometimes red. Very, very painful," said Lisa Wilson, whose son Travis had Morgellon's disease.
While all of this is going on, it feels like bugs are crawling under your skin. So far more than 100 cases of Morgellons disease have been reported in South Texas....

Man shoots at US mission guards in Saudi:
May 12, 2006 — RIYADH (Reuters) - A man was arrested after shooting from his car on guards at the U.S. consulate in the Saudi city of Jeddah on Friday, a security source said. No one was hurt in the shooting.
The source said police chased the car and arrested the man after the drive-by shooting in which several shots were fired at the mission's guards. There were no other details available.
In December 2004, al Qaeda militants stormed the U.S. consulate compound in the Red Sea port city, killing five non-American consular staff. Four of the five attackers died in the attack and a fifth was wounded and arrested.
Saudi Arabia has been battling a wave of al Qaeda violence since May 2003 when suicide bombers struck at three residential compounds in the capital Riyadh.

"It really has the makings of a horror movie in every way," Savely said.
While Savely sees this as a legitimate disease, there are many doctors who simply refuse to acknowledge it exists, because of the bizarre symptoms patients are diagnosed as delusional.
"Believe me, if I just randomly saw one of these patients in my office, I would think they were crazy too," Savely said. "But after you've heard the story of over 100 (patients) and they're all — down to the most minute detail — saying the exact same thing, that becomes quite impressive."
Travis Wilson developed Morgellons just over a year ago. He called his mother in to see a fiber coming out of a lesion.
"It looked like a piece of spaghetti was sticking out about a quarter to an eighth of an inch long and it was sticking out of his chest," Lisa Wilson said. "I tried to pull it as hard as I could out and I could not pull it out."
The Wilson's spent $14,000 after insurance last year on doctors and medicine.
"Most of them are antibiotics. He was on Tamadone for pain. Viltricide, this was an anti-parasitic. This was to try and protect his skin because of all the lesions and stuff," Lisa said.
However, nothing worked, and 23-year-old Travis could no longer take it.
"I knew he was going to kill himself, and there was nothing I could do to stop him," Lisa Wilson said.
Just two weeks ago, Travis took his life.
Stephanie Bailey developed the lesions four-and-a-half years ago.
"The lesions come up, and then these fuzzy things like spores come out," she said.
She also has the crawling sensation.
"You just want to get it out of you," Bailey said.
She has no idea what caused the disease, and nothing has worked to clear it up.
"They (doctors) told me I was just doing this to myself, that I was nuts. So basically I stopped going to doctors because I was afraid they were going to lock me up," Bailey said.
Harriett Bishop has battled Morgellons for 12 years. After a year on antibiotics, her hands have nearly cleared up. On the day, we visited her she only had one lesion and she extracted this fiber from it.
"You want to get these things out to relieve the pain, and that's why you pull and then you can see the fibers there, and the tentacles are there, and there are millions of them," Bishop said.
So far, pathologists have failed to find any infection in the fibers pulled from lesions.
"Clearly something is physically happening here," said Dr. Randy Wymore, a researcher at the Morgellons Research Foundation at Oklahoma State University's Center for Health Sciences.
Wymore examines the fibers, scabs and other samples from Morgellon's patients to try and find the disease's cause.
"These fibers don't look like common environmental fibers," he said.
The goal at OSU is to scientifically find out what is going on. Until then, patients and doctors struggle with this mysterious and bizarre infection. Thus far, the only treatment that has showed some success is an antibiotic.
"It sounds a little like a parasite, like a fungal infection, like a bacterial infection, but it never quite fits all the criteria of any known pathogen," Savely said
No one knows how Morgellans is contracted, but it does not appear to be contagious. The states with the highest number of cases are Texas, California and Florida.
The only connection found so far is that more than half of the Morgellons patients are also diagnosed with Lyme disease.
