Heard on the John Gibson radio program
Posted on 04/18/2006 5:48:13 PM PDT by yellowdoghunter
I just heard on the John Gibson radio program that Tony Snow has been offered McClellan's job at the White House. He has not made a decision but will discuss it on his radio program tomorrow.
I didn't see this posted. Just posting what I heard. No link.

Tony: this administration is damaged goods and it's not coming back. If this was the start of the first Bush administration, I'd tell ya to go for it.
Now, forget it. Nothing but trouble, nasty press corps and an administration that continues to lose influence. It's not worth it.

Tony always talks about how he would massage and shape the WH communications strategy. He knows Washington. This WH needs someone who can highlight the successes of this administration and hold the MSM to the fire. He would only have to do it through the elections.

Do it, Tony. O'Blowhard will be so jealous, seeing as he thinks GWB should hang on his every word.

It would be a pay cut.
But a huge resume builder, imo.
Or maybe Gibson is trying to stir the folks up over at DU

McClellan is a nice guy and with a resume line of WH press sec, he can go places.
If true my guess the places he going is Austin Tx to run his mommy's campaign press relations, etc.

I somehow think he can smooth things over if the WH finds out it got leaked.
It is Gibson who blabbed.

I dunno....TWO guys with the word "Secretary" in their titles named "Snow" in the same administration - the Press will become even more confused than they are now.

"It would be a pay cut."
Not when you consider the royalities he would get for writing about the last 2 years of the Bush administration (as well as culling info from key players about the 1st 6 years)!
