Are the Repubs too scared to propose a bill that punishes businesses? The Republicans are scared of losing campaign cash from big business. The first and only thing politicians care about is getting reelected. Taxpayer's who aren't big donors are last on their list of priorities.

Republicans don't want to do anything that would interrupt the flow of illegal aliens. They merely want them legalized so they can depress wages and pay taxes. Democrats don't want to do anything that would interrup the flow of illegal aliens. They merely want them legalized so they can vote.

You're right about politicians afraid to "hurt businesses."
I wrote to Congressman John Sweeney(R) here in NYS and that was his reason for being cautious about the harm that may be done to the economy if we get rid of illegal immigrants.
Even though the majority of Americans want to get rid of illegals, our Washington Repubs will not co-operate with us.
