Sex-Mex Eva Longoria: Don't deport illegals

"Desperate Housewives" vixen Eva Longoria is stepping out of the house with her political views on immigration, saying it's "unfortunate" some American lawmakers are looking to deport illegal aliens and build a barrier on the U.S.-Mexico border.

"Mexicans contribute an enormous amount to our society, economically and socially," the Texas-born Mexican-American actress told Reuters. "I don't think this administration can afford to have things end badly."

In an interview published in Ireland Online, the actress who worked with the John Kerry presidential campaign in 2004, accepted the fact she has become a role model for the Latin community, and is looking to effect change in the lives of foreigners living below the poverty line in the U.S.

"I work a lot with the National Council of La Raza, which is the largest Latino civil rights organization in the country and I work a lot with the United Farm Workers," Longoria, 31, said. "I've been in the fields with these people and I've tried to experience a day in the life of these people. I'm producing a documentary on the labor workers."

She added: "We're in this big debate about the future of our immigration laws which is colored by the often negative media portrayals of Latinos in television and film. In the 1940s, after the Great Depression, they did a huge deportation of Mexicans and Mexican-Americans who were American citizens ... .

"Everyone has a right to be treated as a human being. There are slavery lawsuits in Florida right now against some orange growers. ... The fact that the year is 2006 and slavery's still happening is insane."

Her parents may be illegals themselves. Maybe that's why she's ranting? Like all those "legal" kids in the streets she wants to keep mommie and daddy from being deported.? Gosh, what a stupid thing it is to make the children of lawbreakers automatically US Citizens! We are suck suckers in the US.

Eva Jacqueline Longoria was born 05/15/1975 in Nueces County Texas.

Well, I've read about all I need to about Eva Longoria these past few minutes. And that's about all it takes, a few minutes. I did learn that she an Bill O'Reilly have a common fascination with a certain thing. Who can tell me what that thing is? Wait! Nevermind. Forget I brought it up.

From a biography: "...her siblings would tease her because she was the only one with dark eyes, dark hair and dark skin".

I imagine that her family (including herself) would be deported to Europe by the "Indigenous People".

What's funny is a Germany buddy of mine came to the states, and customs saw a letter of his saying goodbye to his sister. So they assumed he was staying and not going to go through the legal process. So they locked him in jail and basically forced him to go back to Germany. And this government has the balls to say it can't handle the border.

My friend wasn't breaking the law. Maybe because he was educated and spoke english...'we don't need you, you think.' We need someone that can contribute...lol...to amexico. What a backwards immigration policy we have.

Cheap labor, and cheap votes.

I think Eva needs to worry more about her TV show potentially getting dusted in the TV ratings next year having to go head-to-head with NBC's Sunday Night Football Game of the Week instead of speaking up for a bunch of Illegal Lawbreakers.
