It has nothing to do with those we are fighting deciding what ammo we can or cant kill them with. Its about how it plays out to the larger local population, whose support we need if we are to win the war in Iraq and further afield
Have you heard about that film in Turkey, its about an American Company or platoon serving in Iraq.
It depicts the Americans as blood thirty killers who fire indiscriminately at men, women and children, civilians and terrorists.
But there is a added twist, it seems that they are selling the bodies to a Jewish doctor who harvests them for there organs.
In fact most of the killing is directed by the doctor who needs more of the bodies.
Its propaganda in a very simple form, the message is that America is being led by the Jews.
This film tells us a lot.
Most importantly, America is not seen as the main enemy.
Now it was America who deposed Saddam and has the most troops on the ground, and is bearing the brunt of the fighting with the newly formed Iraqi Army.
So why is America not the main villain.
It is because most Iraqis are glad to be rid of Saddam, and many feel something better will come out of it.
But like all the Arabs states the Iraqis have been fed a poisoness diet on Israel and will believe anything of the Jews.
Hopefully in time a new regime will re-educate the Iraqi people.
A stable Iraq can only increase Israelis security, but at this moment in time we need to hold the line until Iraq is stable enough to stand on her own two feet.
Any link between Israel and America is exploited by the Terrorists and there sympathisers propaganda machine.
And they will really go to town on Americans using Israeli rounds to shoot Muslims.
We have a long hard road in front of us, but we are gaining ground in Iraq and part of that is the hearts and minds strategy being used by both American, British and other coalition troops.
Call it what you will. Rose is a rose is a rose and anti-Jewish sentiment doesn't disappear because you deny that this is what youa re expressing. To forbid the Rosenfeld and Schapiro Bullet Company from providing weapons in the war in Iraq because it might offend the anti-Semitic sensibilities of some of the terrorists there simply is anti-Semitism. Call it anything that you want. If you choose to buy into this contemptible ideology then you know what this makes you.
On reflection, I realize that I don't have enough data to have an informed opinion as to whether or not you are anti-Semitic.
I do believe, though, that you are acting like a Quisling-like collaborator.
Here's what I don't understand: if you're willing to be such a Dhimmi that you'll sever all ties to Israel and to Jews in order not to offend some mythical Muslims in Iraq, then why do you support the war? It seems to me that you've already surrendered. Really, what values that they require you to adopt are you resisting? Or is this war not about ideology?
In any case, capitulation/collaboration will not get you peace in our time. I'm sure that you know Pastor Martin Niemoller's famous statement about craven collaboration:
"First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me."
Or, as Ronald Reagan once said, "If some among you fear taking a stand because you are afraid of reprisals..., recognize that you are just feeding the crocodile hoping he'll eat you last."
That was my first thought, almost exactly. However it might gum up the M-16s and ruin the accuracy. Dead Jihadies and live GIs are worth more than the satisfaction.
However, I would start a whispering campaign to the effect that we were coating the bullet in bacon grease.
But there is no such downside to using the Israeli ammo, so that I heartily approve of.
Too expensive. We'd have to render him first, and then ship the grease.
Do you actually read my replies, it is not about offending the terrorists, its about not handing them a propaganda strategy on a plate.
