Is Iran Preparing for War?
Washington Times ^ | 04/17/06

Using menacing rhetoric that evokes memories of Egyptian President Gamel Abdel-Nasser right before the Six-Day War and Adolf Hitler during the 1930s, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Tehran's terror network sound like they are girding for war with the United States, Britain and Israel. Mr. Ahmadinejad on Friday appeared to suggest once again that Israel would soon be wiped off the map, while the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards hinted that American troops in Iraq and elsewhere in the region would be in danger if Washington attempted to target the regime's nuclear facilities.

"You can start a war, but it won't be you who finishes it," Revolutionary Guards Gen. Yahya Rahim Safavi warned Washington. Gen. Safavi, addressing Palestinian radicals at a conference in Tehran, appeared to threaten the safety of American troops in Iraq and elsewhere in the Persian Gulf region: "The Americans know better than anyone that their troops in the region and in Iraq are vulnerable." Another Revolutionary Guards official recently said that 29 potential U.S. and British targets have been identified. Iranian jihadists said yesterday that 200 Iranians had volunteered to carry out suicide attacks in the past few days. Last month, members of a special Revolutionary Guards unit marched in a military parade carrying detonators and explosive packs around their wastes.

Sometimes the grammatical error fits better than the correction...don't you agree?

Of course they are preparing for war. They believe, as Japan once believed that there is a way to strike at America and make her recoil. Though the Japs didn't have the MSM and the "loyal" opposition party to assist them (or give them delusional hope as the case may be).

I'm supposed to take this article seriously after this?

In their minds, they very well may be ready for war with the infidel world.

Ahmadinejad sounds like like an impotent bully - all mouth.

No, they only had the "It's Europe's problem" isolationist GOP on their side!

Well, if we can't take the Washington Times editorials seriously we're in trouble. IMO, they are one of the few last allies against the liberal MSM.

Oh, man. Drop a bomb in the right place and watch all those beautiful secondary explosions.

Is Iran preparing for war?

Is the Pope Catholic?

Is Chirac corrupt?

Is Ahmadinejad insane?

There you have it.

Let THEM start it. Then let them become the world's leading exporter of trinitite. If we attack them prior to any shot the Islamics will wage war across the planet.

Like Osama they are trying to unite and mobilize their 1.3 billion Muslim brothers by provoking an American over-reaction.

So far W has foiled their ambitions.

I see only a right wing revolution in THIS country as the only way to save it. We need a George Washington minded leader, one who will step away from power once victory is acheived. And victory is going to take the removal of ALL leftists and anti-patriots from this country, bodily or spritually (tho I doubt they have any spirit that would go upwards). Then the proper use of force to shut down the mullahs. Otherwise, we are in for a thousand years of war -first between islam and the west and then between communism and islam, and the result of that one may be the end of man with islam's control of europe's nukes and its fanaticism of death and willingness to die, and thus its willingness to accept mutually assured destruction which even the commies dont want.

I agree. All I hear is talk. The mullahs have a good thing going (50 billion per year in oil revenue) why mess with it? If they were out for war they would stop pumping or attack carriers in the straights to strangle us.

All I hear is talk.

Talk is all they need.

Lugar is telling Bush he needs to turn up diplomacy. The MSM is publishing dozens of reasons why testing Iran's resolve is a dangerous thing. The EU is worried about upsetting the current status.

Iran has been freed in the North Korean model to develop all the weapons they like.

We will not win this war until we learn how to be brutal enough.

"Cruel to be kind" is understood by a lot of dithering relationship-oriented metrosexuals and dipsluts - but it slips their pinheaded minds when it comes to geopolitics. Pig-ignorant F's that they are.

It was not an error in the least. Explosive waste-spreading is a true terror weapon of long standing. Even in Middle Ages they were routinely throwing the full chamberpots at the enemy, usually during sieges.
