It's a good suggestion, but I don't think it matters what citizens do or say or think. This president (for whom I have voted twice) and far too many senators have their minds made up to shove this through.
I can tell you right now that neither of the Republican senators from my state of Tennessee will ever get another vote from me. When the only thing that can be said for Republicans is that the Democrats would be far worse, I'd say it's all lost. Republicans are likely to lose very big this year and it's their own damn fault. Conservatives are probably going to stay home.
