I am SO tired of this argument! We have seven candidates in seminary right now. My sister's parish has 8. The increase in vocations is God's answer, and the Church is not going to change its position on this.
Good morning.
We need to have the numbers in order to refute this latest DNC/MSM trick.
I know the talking heads and screaming faces are not your favorite, but thought you might be interested. Comments are pretty much in real time, so you can scroll to when Joan is on.
Plus the Africans. Local parish has a priest from, I think, Nigeria.
Congratulations! My wife did hers last night as well!
Morning EC did you do your exercises yet, all prepared?
Ready for a repeat victory today MM?
Good Morning Johnny! In addition to Easter dinner at my MILs, I will be going to Sunfish Lake. Im not leaving until I have the first keeper of the season!
and
HAPPEY EASTER!!
There are other sensibles, like Powerline -> War on Rummy by dummies
When you're President, you get lots of free advice. Some of it is well-intentioned; much of it is not. Here is why I think so many liberals are anxious for President Bush to replace Rumsfeld:
They have staked a great deal on the proposition that the Iraq war has not gone well, and, in fact, has been a disaster. But they are troubled because they are not at all sure that is true. By any reasonable standard, casualties have been low and Iraq's progress toward democracy has been impressive. This doesn't mean the project couldn't still go off the rails; it clearly could.
But it is also possible--likely, I think--that the Iraqis will succeed in forming a government, violence will continue to decline, our troops levels will be substantially reduced, and, in a year or two, the consensus will be that the war was pretty successful after all. This, I think, is what liberals fear most. They want President Bush to stipulate, in effect, that the war has been poorly conducted and has been a failure.
That's the way in which firing Rumsfeld would rightly be interpreted. This would largely insulate liberals against the consequences if the war does, in fact, turn out to be successful. The same logic, I think, explains why liberals are always hectoring President Bush to "admit his mistakes."
What they fear, deep down, is that the President's policies haven't been mistakes at all.
I will be leaving around miid-morning for my sister's Easter brunch.
I hope someone keeps tabs on my worthless senators from Indiana. I predict Bayh will try to appear "moderate and sensible" while Lugar will snarkily try to undercut the President.
Count me disgusted with them both.
Just for you:
HE IS RISEN! Alleluia!
I want to know what that says about any general calling for a Sec/Def to be fired during a time of war. These guys must be nuts! They should lose their retirement if nothing else.
LOL! I have about 6 windows open...lol- taking notes...
;-0
I also used my html editor to create the final announcement- so I can just fill in the names and posts....I figured I would be so tired-- lol, I got it ready last night so it would be done with at least some respect that the FREEPERS deserve....although they actaully deserve a billboard....
Thank you so much!
I remember the parade of flag officers at the 2004 Dem National Convention acting as props to Kerry. I recall the Diplomats and Military Commanders for Change who advocated that Bush not be reelected. Other career government employees believe that they deserve a piece of the pie as well, witness Richard Clarke, Joe Wilson, and a host of other dim bulbs who are making money off their "inside" information. The MSM aids and abets them, paticularly if they are anti-Bush, anti-Rep.
Naomi Judd is going to have a talk show.
