Not a good slogan. It may be popular and humorous but that is not what the United States Armed Forces are about.

Perhaps not, but it may be useful in a "good cop, bad cop" strategy. As in "You learn to be nice with me. You do NOT want Bad Cop to be sent in. Really. You do not."

While I agree that is true today, there is the heritage of Curtis LeMay, and others, to consider.

When we occupied Germany and Japan, the populace *knew* they'd been beaten, and needed to straighten up and listen to what the occupying power had to say.

Doesnt the Koran say to kill all infidels.

I guess the problem here for the Imam is who is doing the kiling.

And I do speak from experience being a Vietnam veteran and currently serving with the Special Forces in Afghanistan.

Thank you for your (past and current) service to our country!

their religion actually resembled a more dualistic Manichaean sort of religion with a little Donatism thrown in).

Donatism... is that the one where they keep saying "donate money"?

;^)

"France's last truly successful general was probably Charles Martel."

Or Charlemange who had many more victories but none as memorable as Martel's at the battle of Tour's.
