Swann's hour of crisis By Salena Zito TRIBUNE-REVIEW Sunday, April 16, 2006

What's the biggest problem with Lynn Swann's campaign for governor?

It is not his awkward grasp of the issues. Nor is it his anemic fundraising. It isn't that he's never sought public office before, nor is he handicapped because he's black.

Lynn Swann's big trouble? He is handled by amateurs.

Salena is spot on once again. I have our own governor's race in Ohio to involve myself with, but this is troubling. Conservatives are in trouble simply because we have too few opportunities to further our agenda. Sounds like Lynn Swann is lazy, and we can't afford it.

As a volunteer for Lynn Swann, and PA voter, I take offense with your "Lynn Swann is lazy statement". He is one of the most honest, hard working men I've ever known. Lynn is in a tie with fat eddie and if he chooses to take a vacation with his family before the primary, so what? No one except political junkies are paying attention to any races in April. Swann has the pubbie nomination locked, and the race won't even start until summer.

I completely agree. Who cares if he takes a vacation with his family. Thats what I call REAL. Some people would rather him be pandering to the voters.

When it comes time for election he's gonna tell you what he believes and what he'll do..and you can either vote for him or not. Period.

No offense intended. But I was only commenting on what Ms. Zito wrote in her column. And I would assume she understands the Swann campaign better than I. If you have a beef, your beef is with her.

Sounds like you're guessing. Swann is a good man and a hard worker.

As for "we can't afford it", I'm not sure what you mean.

i know miss zito, she has worked on 3 presientials (REagan, Bush and Bush) two us senators (Santorum) and two governors (Fisher, Ridge)
she is a seasoned campaigner in PA
i think her point is swann needs better people around him or he cant win
read between the lines and hell read her other stuff on Swann
i think her frustration is showing, she is a hard core conservative

Then she's ticked off because Lynn didn't offer her a job.

IMHO, she sounds like a person with an ax to grind.

sounds pretty narrow minded and petty there buddy
why dont you email and ask her
dont think she would want to give up her columnist job to work with the kids at swann
but i am sure that you dont have the chutzpa to ask her
you are better at whinning and complaining and theorizing from a far...would not it better to ask her?

Fast Eddie's media slime machine is working in overdrive already, I see.

The next time I see an article describing Fast Eddie as a lying, corrupt, socialist crook will be the first time. Yet articles attacking his opponents are a dime-a-dozen. Wonder why that is?

re read that column she does not say that she does not want swann to win, she says he needs a better tighter team
and if you read her stuff she rips all over rendell read "rendell blows with the wind" and she also has given swann great columns read 'principle trumps color'...read the column for what it is. a wake up call to the gop to get a better team,,, she says that rendell is the best of the best at politics...not policy
