By the time you can turn it off, it's too late. Even the reality shows are letting stuff through that used to be edited out.
Of course, I suppose you can simply choose not to watch any of the network shows or the cable shows and simply watch....
I watch news and sometimes a movie and that's about it.
But I don't have children at home either. When the grand kids are here either my wife or I monitor what they watch.
I try not to use foul language but it doesn't offend me personally to hear it on tv. My 4 adult children have never heard me use a curse word nor do they use them in my presence or any where else that I am aware of. I tried to teach them that it was a vile practice and a sure sign of ignorance
I am 60 years old and still haven't heard either of my parents use a curse word. My father is deceased now but my mother is alive and well and 86 years old.
