Not caught. Not Crap. Not Revionist.
The revision is the Marines pushing the birth of the "Modern Marine Corps" back to the Revolution.
Marine dress blues were originally hand-me-downs from Anthony Waynes force at Fallen Timbers.
Army officers who were on sea service with the Navy were called Marines. The bureaucracy came later, with the historical revision.
"The Marines? Aren't they the Navy's police force, but with a propaganda arm that would embarass Joe Stalin?"
guess who said that...

Tank Hill is not too bad.
Always listen to your Drill Sergeants, and use your best judgment.
Good luck!

Good afternoon.
"Better selection of MOS's in the USArmy ;-)"
Is there a need for anymore than an 11B MOS with a P after it? I guess there, is isn't there.

Before then, the Marines were governed by the Articles of War, meaning they were part of the Army.

I salute you, LJE. Thank you for what you're doing.
And speaking as somebody who survived seven summers in Columbia...hope you like humidity! :) Great people, though.

The largest branch in the Army is Infantry (11 series). The second largest branch is Military Intelligence. For reference, that includes most unmanned aircraft operators, as well as the technical guys who look at enemy communications.
And yes, you need a "R" after the 11B, or after 11C. Inside joke.

God bless you son. Its been a little over twenty years since I made a similar decision. Thought I'd be fighting the Ruskies in the Norwegian Sea back then.
You've joined knowing you'll likely be in real fighting. You've already shown a good deal of courage and honor.

Good evening.
I went from being an 11B to being an 11F when I made E-5.
I tell the young guys I meet who are enlisting these days to pick an Infantry MOS but most just decline politely.

Welcome to the Army.
Before you ship out rent the 1980's movie Stripes with Bill Murray and John Candy. It's funny (at least I thought it was back then before I joined up).
I'm sure there are still references to the movie in Basic, particularly to Francis, the recruit.
Recruit Francis - "Any of you call me Francis, I'll kill you...any of you touch any of my stuff...I'll kill you...and if any of you homos touch me...I'll kill you!"
Drill Sargeant - "Lighten up, Francis"

Good Luck. My Uncle was a career Army man. Korea and Vietnam. His file is painted black and he passed in 1994. He loved the Army and his Country. You made a great choice.
Thank you for serving our country.

I guess the clown that came up with that "Army of One" slogan never read General Patton's speech.
