The murder of children after sexual assault happened before the death penalty, during the time we have a moratorium from the death penalty, happens in state without the death penalty and continues to happen.

Death be damned, if someone wants to murder a person to keep them from identifying them or for whatever sick reason they have, the murder will happen.

Actually, I'm for life in prison without the possibility of parole for anyone who murders. After incarceration, if they murder again, then I'm all for capitol punishment. However, I am also for life in prison without parole for child molesters.

With recidivism rates of upwards of 70%, I'd rather not have more children molested so perverts can get their rocks off on 6 year olds.

That was Jessica Lunsford you're thinking about. She was the inspiration for the federal "Jessica Lunsford Act" and these new state "Jessica's Law" initiatives about stricter control of child predators/sex offenders.

She's who I thought of right away, too, when I read what you just posted. I hadn't heard that part of it. It *is* like John Couey sitting down the street watching everyone searching for Jessie. Or that awful Ward Weaver who had two girls buried on his property, one just below the patio cement where he was giving TV interviews--while leaning against an outdoor freezer where he kept them before burial!

This one also reminds us a lot of JED, Joseph Duncan, the monster who destroyed the Groene family - except for Shasta! - with all the blogging of thoughts leading up to the murder.

Doesn't appear, however, that this Underwood had ever gotten caught at anything before. It's almost like he went from 0 to 100 in 5 seconds or something.

Punitive and long sentences for those who are in the sex trade industry, 25 year minimum with life a real possibility.

Automatic life for those who rape/molest children under the age of 13. 25+ years and over for children over 13 depending on circumstances.

No more probation, no more 6 months in jail, no more judges who refuse to punish. While harsher sentences will not stop child molesters, it will protect children from these predators being able to molest.

In this case it's murder and lets hope the laws of Oklahoma do not allow parole for child murders. One thing I can say about my state, Florida, we have no problem executing convicted murders.

These stories just tear me up. How anyone can hurt a child is just beyond my comprehension. He should be stoned to death.

If there was a simple solution, it would have been implemented by now. There is none.

But the solution is not "kill them all".

There's one in every crowd. We have ours and the people posting on Underwood's blog, telling him how awful he is now have theirs, too:

You people are ridiculous.

Saying how much you want this guy to die and suffer...it makes you just as bad as he was.

He was clearly on meds...not that it makes it okay, but he probably dind't have any "intent" to kill. Who knows.

Also, perhaps you all should remember that old phrase "Innocent until proven guilty"! I mean, yes the obvious evidence shows one thing, but don't be so quick to condemn.

Besides, it's not up to you whether he deserves to live or not or even go to jail. Personally, I hope none of you are on the jury, because that would be against the law technically...it's called an "impartial" jury!

And ultimately it's up to God to decide his punishment. Remember that.

For now I think you should all get off your high horse and do something more productive than spam this guys blog. ..."

It's either someone auditioning for the job as his defense attorney or it's one of his sicko buddies. The "Lexapro defense" - no intent to kill - yeah, right. They weren't even able to identify her little body as of last night. Sick, sick, sick and depraved.

*shrug* It's what eliminated Rome's little Carthage problem.

Come to think of it Carthage hasn't been much of a problem to anyone for a couple thousand years. Effective, and long lasting...

He is the one that sells insurance. He is running in the Republican primary against Wayne Maxwell, former superintendent of Purcell and Lexington schools who is a friend of Sandy Garrett, our crappy State School Superintendent.

Ron is a really good guy and who I would vote for if I lived in that district.

Freep Mail me if you need more info!

I would be tearing down the doors of the police station if it were me as my kids would never have run away from home. Makes you think about having them sign they would never run away in today's environment.

Oklahoma is a strong death penalty state. Tim, our DA, is seeking the death penalty when he files the charges on Monday morning -- he is a law and order DA and you can bet this guy is going to receive the death penalty.

"We intend to seek the death penalty on this."

The guy REALLY picked the wrong state to commit
this crime in. Oklahomans still believe in
the old time virtues of protecting family.

I don't have the exact wording of the Oklahoma law, but in the beginning, they said this kidnapping had not yet met the criteria for putting out the Amber Alert. I think they are still smarting from a couple of cases of false reports where no actual kidnapping had occurred (and no danger even--they were runaways), plus the one just Wednesday where the Kansas girl called in a fake kidnapping report.

Plus, some of the folks in Purcell said this child was a bit headstrong and sometimes a bit of a problem--could be they had reason to think she was just late coming home at first, and later that she had run away. No parent ever thinks their kids would run away, or grandmothers either.

Well, you might not like this, but a dead child molester doesn't molest any more children--and he darned sure can't kill any of them.

Oh, if this weren't so grim, I'd find this part funny:

I mean, yes the obvious evidence shows one thing, but don't be so quick to condemn.

A dead (and possibly mutilated--according to some sources) body in his apartment, and we shouldn't be so quick to condemn? What possible circumstances would absolve him of the obvious? His "Evil Twin Skippy"?

"but a dead child molester doesn't molest any more children"

True.

And a dead rapist rapes no more. A dead robber robs no more. A dead wife beater assaults no more. A dead jaywalker ...

Where do you stop?

You're right. Screw the trial. Kill him right now. Hurry!
