CC really did censor South Park? Well then hurray for the writers. The two part show was so in your face about it. And the press conference was also very in the face of the idiot media and Bush came off as one of the good guys and the media whores as idiots.

Here's the chain of events I've put together from various articles/ interviews/ etc. None of this is outlined in all one source and some of it (which I'll try to indicate parenthetically) is my conjecture from these sources:
Matt and Trey had a story that involved an image Mohamed (probably based on the Danish cartoon stuff)
they brought it to CC, CC said they won't show an image of Mohamed
Matt and Trey (changing the plot) come up with a two parter revolving around cartoon's not being allowed to show Mohamed by their network execs
With the extra week to come up to the plate, including a challenge at the end of the 1st part to not "puss out", CC doesn't change their tune and censors the episode

I see an episode where Tom Cruise considers coverting... after speaking to Mohammed in the closet.

That would make everyone mad.
