There is only one group of people with less credibility on the immigration issue than Washington politicians. It is the illegal immigrants protesting violations of their "rights" while parading the Mexican flag and disrespecting the one symbolizing the great nation from which they're demanding favors.
I'm not talking about all demonstrators in every city in which a march occurred. Some were reportedly peaceful and even patriotic. But the hostility of some protestors did more to galvanize apathetic Americans into demanding action on immigration than all the previous alarm-warnings from politicians and pundits combined.
Nothing awakens the sleeping giant like direct threats to her sovereignty and security. And it was hard not to feel violated by the outrageous spectacle of people making demands on the very system they have circumvented instead of demonstrating some humility, if not contrition.
On the other hand, it's not hard to understand their attitude, given our shameful negligence concerning the integrity of our border and the rule of law. We hardly have clean hands either, considering our enforcement laxity and our Faustian bargain to reap the fruit of the poisonous tree by exploiting the cheap labor illegals provide. We don't even have enough respect for our laws to call violators "illegals," insisting on the euphemism undocumented workers.

Did he once get hit with a frying pan with bumper music and go to the other one? Hmmm.
"12E6 people"? I am a "wise guy"?
I would say MOST of them love America which is EXACTLY why they came here and want to stay.
I agree - especially for some demonstrators, who actually DO love America ; )
Lets see If I came from a country where I was living in poverty with no future, and moved to one where my standard of living increased 10 times and I had access to free hospital care, free public education for my kids, I didn't have to pay taxes and I could ignore laws and claim racism at the drop of the hat and I sent money home to build my estate and I could retire and return to my home country and still pay no taxes, yes I would like the country that is stupid enough to let me get away with that. Of course most Mexicans in the US have a stange sense of Nationalistic pride in the sewer of corruption they came from, and refuse to see its shortcomings. Most just want a green card and not citizenship, unless its to get more benefits.
That's the point I am trying to make, but no one believes me.
"12E6 people"? I am a "wise guy"?
12 X 10 exponent 6. You are a wise guy, nothing more.
WE THE PEOPLE don't support amnesty of any type, backdoor, guest worker, whatever. WE THE PEOPLE want the borders secured, employer sanctions enforced and a stop to all welfare handouts to illegals.
That's what WE THE PEOPLE want. Problem, our elected CongressCritters aren't listening to WE THE PEOPLE. Should amnesty become law, our elected officials will pay a price at the polls this November for not listening to WE THE PEOPLE.
I hope those who have made lives for themselves here and are contributing members of American society get to stay here and get the opportunity to become citizens.
The word "illegal" apparently means little to you, and I suspect neither does rapist, thief, etc. Those who see nothing wrong with violating the moral law in one area would violate it in other areas.
Perhaps you missed the latest Bloomberg / L.A. Times poll?
Our prisons are packed with illegal alien felons.
It's time to start loading the cattle trucks and legally reimport them to Mexico. It has got to be done and done now!!!!
Oh, O.K. - I was never good at "fuzzy" math.
"...since illegal aliens DON'T PAY TAXES, they get FREE PUBLIC EDUCATION, get it?"
Oh I "get it", in the form of increased property taxes, increased "occupation taxes", increased "school taxes" and increased "amusement taxes", for starters. "Free" for illegals = taxpayers footing the ever increasing bill. :(
"WE" have soverignty and security?... Fancy that..
NO ONE but CITIZENS of the United States, born or naturalized, have ANY rights under our Constitution.
I bet you cry for our enemies at Gitmo.
Like I said, I never said such a thing so why should I answer your foolish question?
