Immigration Madness

There is only one group of people with less credibility on the immigration issue than Washington politicians. It is the illegal immigrants protesting violations of their "rights" while parading the Mexican flag and disrespecting the one symbolizing the great nation from which they're demanding favors.

I'm not talking about all demonstrators in every city in which a march occurred. Some were reportedly peaceful and even patriotic. But the hostility of some protestors did more to galvanize apathetic Americans into demanding action on immigration than all the previous alarm-warnings from politicians and pundits combined.

Nothing awakens the sleeping giant like direct threats to her sovereignty and security. And it was hard not to feel violated by the outrageous spectacle of people making demands on the very system they have circumvented instead of demonstrating some humility, if not contrition.

On the other hand, it's not hard to understand their attitude, given our shameful negligence concerning the integrity of our border and the rule of law. We hardly have clean hands either, considering our enforcement laxity and our Faustian bargain to reap the fruit of the poisonous tree by exploiting the cheap labor illegals provide. We don't even have enough respect for our laws to call violators "illegals," insisting on the euphemism undocumented workers.

I have no problem with any of that - did you know Teddy wanted "UNLIMITED" legal immigration though?

This was a great country until half our population went insane or turned traitor.

Technically - the "conservative" position would be NO LAWS against immigration at all - or at worst, Teddy Roosevelt's position that there should be "UNLIMITED" legal immigration.

Now there's a "conservative" plan that Teddy Kennedy could readily endorse.

Not really sure what it would be conserving, though.

Yeah - I guess not allowing 40 million abortion could have "increased" some costs to taxpayers as well.

Yup. The whirlwind is here.

"Even illegal immigrants have rights under the U.S. Constitution."

Not at this stage. This is an invasion, pure and simple and the courts have absolutely no business in it.

Great to see you again - maybe now you can explain exactly how waving American flags is anti-American?!

"Not only "humane treatment" - illegal aliens get FREE PUBLIC EDUCATION - see Plyer v. Doe."

There is no such thing as "FREE PUBLIC EDUCATION", as any tax-payer is well aware. If you're trying to "make friends and influence others", reminding me of this isn't helping. For many of us, "the well's runnin' dry". ;)

If anything gets passed out of Congress before the election, we'll see who gets what he wants ; )

A uniform rule for naturalization, IS NOT AMNESTY!

The law of the land is clear. You enter the US without going through the proper naturalization process or visa process, and get caught by law enforcement, you should be deported.

I like what Ann Coulter said on O'Reilly tonight and I said the same thing a few days ago. Get the illegals to build the border fence and then while they are at their pro-illegal rallies have ICE and other law enforcement round them up and deposit them over the border.

This is OLD NEWS.

The new demonstrators parade the US flag (no Mexican flags allowed) and tell us how much they love America.

A VERY clever move.

I'm not here to make friends - since illegal aliens DON'T PAY TAXES, they get FREE PUBLIC EDUCATION, get it?

I'm not putting words in your mouth - I asked you that question on another thread and you have yet to answer.
