No girl deserves to be raped, drunk or not.

That is a bad misread of why people are interest in her state of intoxication. People don't think it would be okay to rape her if she was drunk.

When people go to trial for a major felony, the totality of the circumstances need to be understood in the effort to fit the pieces together in some comprehensible way.

I don't know how they do it in NC, but in Cali, the defense would have that officer designated as a 'expert witness' and he'd be allowed to give an opinion as to her condition. Of course the defendant's attorney would go into areas such 'her ability to recall, etc etc'.
Does it work that way in NC?
