LOS ANGELES - Tiger Woods has apologised for comments he made during a television interview after the U.S. Masters at Augusta National Golf Club on Sunday.
The world No. 1, who tied for third place three strokes behind winner Phil Mickelson, was criticised for using the term spaz to describe his poor putting in the final round.
Tiger meant nothing derogatory to any person or persons and apologises for any offence caused, Woodss agent Mark Steinberg said in a statement issued on the players official website.

Do your lips hurt from blowing the ball?
Maybe he's just a ~really~ nice guy who doesn't want to offend anyone. :~D
But seriously, did he apologize for the comment, or to those who were offended? Only Dick Durbin knows for sure.
LOL! How ridiculous. He should not have to apologize for this. We have become a world of hyper-sensitive spazes.
Maybe this is just because it's Britian or whatever, but I've never thought the word "spaz" was for something else. We called our dog a 'spaz' when she would freak out and run around like crazy - we meant it more like a term for 'crazy' and 'hyper' than anything else.
I'm offended that Tiger oppresses me by playing golf so much better than me, and therefore hurting my self-esteem! I want reparations worth a trillion or so. And I want the right to still feel oppressed after I get them.
Spaz? Does he mean spastic? Who did he offend, all the people with spastic colons?
I heard he married her because of her passion for nuclear physics!
Spaz ping!
Salesman: Alright, this one is about 8 years old. Not a scratch on it, it was owned by some lady
who only used it to go from the bathroom to the kitchen and to feed her cat.
Kramer: But this'll get you around?
Salesman: Oh sure, it just doesn't have any of the thrills of the Cougar.
George: Like what?
Salesman: For example, your tremor-damping.
Kramer: Now what's that?
Salesman: It helps to control the direction regardless of the operator's tremors or spasticity.
Looking at a picture of Mrs Tiger causes me to have a 'spaz' attack!
Should have told those who are "sensitive" to kiss his Black A**!
His apology was prompt. At least he didn't drag his feet.
Reminds me of a Dilbert comic where Dogbert had referred to someone as a dork. He then received an angry letter from a Mr Dork who was upset his name was use as an insult. Dogbert answered "To all of the dorks who were offended, I sincerely apologize."
I wonder what the reaction would be if Tiger used that technique - "to all of the spazzes (how do you make that plural) who were offended..."
More like, "Kiss my Cablinasian a$$".
When I was a kid in the 50s and early 60s, "spastic," "spaz," and "spazmo" were probably the most common insults. They've been replaced by "retarded," "retard," and "retardo." If everyone who ever used those terms had to make a public apology, there'd be no one left to apologize to.
My first thought.
