I was just looking at Allens website for his senate re-election bid, his philosophy on Government is near perfect!! He has an all American family and his wife just has that first lady look to her which complements George's Presidential leadership 'vibe' Any FReepers know more about allen? Is his name being tossed around for 2008?

More substantive than giving one's life for his country? I don't think so.

It's not something on which to base holiness or national policy. When you find George Allen doing that, you might have a valid concern.

What did I miss? Has George Allen put his hat in the ring for Pope? Easter weekend does seem an appropriate time, but I think he's about a year too late.

Oh, geez.... Not this old line of attack again. Next thing someone's going to say he's not really pro-life when he has a 100% pro-life voting record.
He's just about the ONLY U.S. Senator out there screaming we need to secure our borders.

""I think Newt would make a good VP. I know some will say he has too much baggage, but look at the opposition and tell me which one of them doesn't have baggage? Hillary, Kerry, Dean?????""
It took me awhile to get back to this thread but it was worth the trouble. I agree with you about Newt Gingrich. It would make for an interesting race.

He's just about the ONLY U.S. Senator out there screaming we need to secure our borders. With a 'virtual fence'.
Come on.
See the tagline below...

I noticed you ignored the work he did for the NRSC... You mean like pouring all the party's money into Arlen Specter's campaign?

As much as I would like a good, effective and intelligent government. I admit I'm relieved when governed by a paralyzed government. I think Thomas Jefferson would be laughing when he wasn't crying.

And frankly, he seems to be a nice enough guy, but you were asked to list things he had shown leadership on, and that was your list? With the possible exception of nanotechnology, it was pretty lightweight. ;-)

~yawn~ Watching Senators try to have it both ways on everything does get a bit tiresome, doesn't it...

Nope, it's your opinion that's tiresome.
But you know what they say about opinions. Everyone's got one.
You ~are~ one.

Maybe you can help me out...
Does the Senator support abortions up until brainwaves commence, or until 'viability', which would include about 98% of the abortions being committed today?
He's made statements in the past that could lead a person to believe either.
Which is is it?

Another couple of questions for you:
Ed Gillespie has been one of the most powerful figures in the Bush political machine.
Ed has also been THE leader of the Open Borders Lobby.
Now that he is George Allen's chief money man, can we expect Gillespie's views to carry through into the new administration if Senator Allen should win election?
Are those of us who suspect that that would be the case off-base when we note that Senator Allen's rhetoric has been almost identical to the President's?
