A 19-year-old Turkish man has been jailed for nine years and three months by a German court for shooting his sister in a so-called "honour killing". Ayhan Surucu had confessed to shooting his sister Hatun Surucu, 23, at a bus stop in a Berlin suburb last year.
Two other brothers were cleared of charges of conspiring to murder her.
Prosecutors said the brothers felt dishonoured by their sister, who lived on her own with her son after leaving a cousin she had been forced to marry.
The death of the 23-year-old shocked Germany and led to street protests by Turkish women.
The Berlin court's presiding judge Michael Degreif said Hatun Surucu was killed "because she lived her life as she saw fit" and had adopted Western ideas of sexual equality, the AFP news agency reports.

Her killer, Ayhan Surucu, had told the court he shot his sister because he disapproved of her lifestyle and her morals, but added that he regretted his actions.
He said she infuriated him by saying that she had the right to live as she pleased and to sleep with whom she wanted.
"It was too much for me. I grabbed the pistol and pulled the trigger," he told the court in September. "I don't even understand what I did anymore."

I'm sure they will let him out after 5 years, or tomorrow if another german islamist coluding with iraqi terrorists fakes their kidnapping.

Sexual promiscuity is bad. Murder is worse. And his idea of honor is in fact dishonor.
I can understand a debate regarding whether forced marriages to first cousins should be tolerated, but I can't imagine what there is to debate about cold blooded murder.
If Europe bends any further 'pandering' to muslims, something is going to break.

I am not so sure. Islam is dangerous no doubt, but they are just puppets, Russia and China, along with the Islamic elites, who may not believe in Islam at all, at least by their lifestyle, are using Islam as a weapon. I think we may tend to focus so much on Islam, when the real threat is a new world order planned by the members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, along with liberal western elites and the Islamic elites. All 3 have announced their dislike of the current order, and are using Islam, either purposefully or unconsciously, to tear down the existing order. The SCO is the biggest threat, they made Islam the threat it is, and the ones that are in control. Islam, like the UN is just a puppet of Russia and China. Islam is just the means to a terrifying end, but Islam is just a dangerous ans destructive tool, it is not the real threat, those that wield it are.

That has little to do with liberalism, but rather the concept of the "Jugendstrafe" (~youth penalty) in Germany, where minors and adolescents up to 20 years of age face a maximum sentence of 10 years. So 9 1/4 years is almost the maximum sentence possible under German law.
But considering that murder for adults carries a mandatory life sentence (either with the possibility of parole after 15 years or without in cases of "besondere Schwere der Schuld", which is the equivalent of 1st degree murder) in Germany the time served in prison for murder is on average not significantly lower than in the US. FACT!
Plus: The brothers were indeed not cleared, there was just not enough substantial evidence to sentence them. Acquittal due to reasonable doubt, not because of proven innocence.
