Encouraging that they got the intelligence to pin point him.

What we have to be careful of is the Pakistani's claiming there was a wanted AQ member struck....then three days later....saying ....nevermind wasn't him afterall.

ABC showed his pic and identified as
MUHSIN MUSA MATWALLI ATWAH,
indicted in the Southern District of New York, for his alleged involvement in the bombings of the United States Embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Nairobi, Kenya, on August 7, 1998.

I hope it is him. These guys have 50 gazillion aliases. We'll get these guys, one by one if need be.
Sooner or later they have to pop their heads up out of the holes that they're hiding in.

Wouldn't that be a nice kill? Earlier reports were saying six confirmed kills (at least one report broke it down as four foreigners, two locals). Maybe #7 was ol' al Zawahiri dropping in to sip tea with his Egyptian brother! :-D (Lord have mercy, watch the rumors fly now!)

More news from AFP and Forbes:
...Egyptian-born explosives expert Abdul Rahman Al-Muhajir was the target of last night's raid and is believed dead, the senior [security] official told Agence France-Presse...
'Al-Muhajir was the target of the raid,' the official said, adding that he is believed to be among 11 [terrorists] killed in the strike.
Top Al-Qaeda operative believed killed in Pakistan - official
So we've seen printed reports of 6, 7 or 11 killed. As long as they were all terrorists, my vote is for eleven!

Thanks. Always good to get the explosives experts.

From USA Today we have reports of 9 killed:
Seven suspected militants and two children were believed killed, but it was unclear if the operative was slain. I also read on one of the Reuters reports, I believe, that our Egyptian buddy was known to frequent this strike location.

From the Kuwaiti News Agency:
Official sources told KUNA that the troops backed by Cobra helicopters hit a mud-house of local tribesman, Muhammad Akbar, where foreign militants were hiding.
They said the strike killed more than eight including three foreigners, adding that one of the foreigner has been identified as wanted Al-Qaeda militant, Mushin Musa Matwalli Atwah. He was carrying headmoney of US5 million... (Coop note: The last sentence refers to the $5 mil bounty on his head.)

Well, I'd take everything with a grain of salt right now. I'd say the strike was certainly warranted. And I hope and pray we got the SOB and his evil entourage. But these reports are all over the place.
