Four military recruiters hastily fled a job fair Tuesday morning at UC Santa Cruz after a raucous crowd of student protesters blocked an entrance to the building where the Army and National Guard had set up information tables.
Members of Students Against War, who organized the counter-recruiting protest, loudly chanted "Don't come back. Don't come back" as the recruiters left the hilltop campus, escorted by several university police officers.

Sounds like the Commie line of the red professors is working. Why do parents pay tuition for their youngsters to be brutally brain washed in these indoctrination camps called colleges and universities which turn out snotty little America haters? There actually are conservative alternatives.

The administrations of these universities may not openly support these demonstrations, but they give them their tacit approval. You cannot tell me that professors do not promote and disseminate info about these idiotic rallies. These schools are simply hiding behind a technicality!
It's a shame our university students are so ignorant they cannot even discern who are the real enemies.

Anti-war student activists gathered in the pouring rain Tuesday to put pressure on military recruiters trying to sign up students at a University of California at Santa Cruz job fair.
Four recruiters from the Army and the Army National Guard faced some 70 protesters who blocked access to the recruiters through sit-ins and other tactics.
After about an hour and a half, a group of women protesters confronted the recruiters about alleged sexism in the Army, prompting the Army representatives to pack up and retreat from the job fair.
"Our demonstration today is a clear example of how tangible success can be when we take strategic actions against the war at a local level," Students Against War member Sam Aranke said in a statement. "It's not just about the action today, it's about creating sustained movements that directly resist the militarization of our communities."
The showdown echoed a similar protest in April 2005, when Pentagon intelligence, according to some news reports, labeled the Students Against War a "credible threat" after their efforts provoked military recruiters to leave early.
This time around, the recruiters' booth was immediately separated to minimize interference with other employers at the fair, and students were granted an area nearby where they could voice their grievances.
One student was arrested and released after throwing a rock at the recruiters' bus as it headed away from the fair, Associate Vice Chancellor Elizabeth Irwin said today.
Additionally, she said several students occasionally tried to storm the booth, wearing bandanas covering their faces.
"There were moments of action that cannot be characterized as peaceful by any means," Irwin said.
Some students who Irwin said acted in a threatening manner could face administrative penalties by the judicial affairs office.
Students Against War, on the other hand, alleges that police "physically assaulted" several students and that "students were pushed, punched (and) choked."
Extra police officers from University of California at Berkeley were brought in to aid the school's on-duty officers, as is common practice when a crowd of unknown size is expected, Irwin said. In total, about 26 officers were present, though not all were needed, she said.
The more I see crap like this, the more I wish 10 million Communist Chinese troops would hit the beaches and invade California. These left-wing college weenies would be the first ones to beg the U.S, military to come and save them, and I would love to see the military tell these tree hugging aholes to go f--k themselves!

My son is in the Navy. He lives in Calif. We only hear about the malcontents. There are a lot of good people in that state.
I've been getting the feeling for quite some time that we're only a half-click away from the "spitting on the troops" era once again; this sort of s**t only reinforces my intuition.
