I received a call back from Mr. Kelleher of the Hilton.
He told me that Hal and Marty had known for a year that the lease had been up. On the other hand i hear from Hal and Marty that they for the last several years had be getting promises from the Hilton for the needed ADA renovations etc. I also know several soldiers who at various times had worked at Fran O"Brien assisting with the suppers, one of who had actually gone on a tour of the restaurant with Hilton and Restaurant management while all the ADA upgrades were discussed and promises allegedly made.
Mr. Kelleher was less than forthcoming in our conversation re those issues.
On the other hand the Hilton grab to take "Ownership" of the Friday night suppers is a blatant publicity face saving measure. Without Hal the dinners will be just a put the poor wounded soldiers on display event to salve the conscience of those at Hilton management.
While the Hilton staff is on hand to greet the bus it was more to insure the safe passage of those in wheelchairs thru the bowels of the hotel to the dinner than a sincere welcome home. I have been there done that and seen it first hand.

I do not personally know Mr. Kelleher but I do know Hal and I do know Marty and they are the MEN whom have put their money (and business) on the line for these returning service members not the Hilton.
I trust them and do suspect Mr. Kelleher's motivations. He is just too sincere for me!
