2+ years before any political event is way too early to claim anyone is "unstoppable". In my lifetime, no non-incumbent has been closer to "unstoppable" than if Colin Powell had wanted the GOP nod. Well, he (or his wife) didn't want it. But even if he had, one would have had to use the word "almost" unstoppable.

Now that we know the smartest woman in the world is Secretary of State and not US Senator, Hillary has acquired mortality and gradual decline.

Unfortunately, personal appearance has a lot to do with a high visibility politician's success. At her age, HRC cannot look "youthful, energetic, sexy".... Not even Sharon Stone can do that anymore. So could HRC pull off the grandmother look? The Goldameir Look? I doubt it.

If Spencer can get the funding his standing in the polls warrants, he could be part of a one-two punch (with Al Gore providing the knockout) to stop a second Clinton presidency.

This last line, in particular, is a hoot. He's down 54-33, so the "funding his standing in the polls warrants" should actually be pretty minimal. For Dick, it's all about stopping Hilary, so if the GOP was to divert money from other candidates where it could serve the party better, that would be okay by him.

Morris just wants to make things interesting. Spencer goes from 31 to 33 and ... shazam ... it's a close race. Really?
Dickie has written some blatantly silly things here just to try to prove his shaky premise. Unless the Barrett report sees the light of day, I wouldn't bet on New York helping the Republican Party in 2008.

It's fairly hard to gauge the positions one has on federal issues when ones a Governor, since they don't have any real record on some issues. Although I realize it's a bit easier to get in if you are a governor.

Did he say he would run for it?

Well.. let's see... Republicans are the party of males, and Democrats are the party of females (according to those who study such things), therefore, Hillary's task is to kill off or disable most the male population. Then she'll win.

Not so far as I know. I detest the senate as you might have guessed as it nothing more than a house of compromise and cowards.

Forget the next election - it would be terrible if in the coming decades if that body is where all the candidates come from.

I'd wish we repeal the 17 amendment...then Senators would be much more respectable.

"(And remember, Gore has not even hinted at a candidacy. Once he does — if he does — his numbers are likely to increase rapidly.)

Gore turns Hillary’s Left flank and would be able to use his past and present opposition to the war and hefty environmental record to attract liberals repelled by Hillary’s off-again, on-again flirtation with centrism."

Maybe. Gore got pretty close to Hillary at one point, being Vice President to her husband and all. He'd better look out for the Vince Foster syndrome if he decides to run at this point. I've got a feeling that would make Hillary mad.

"I hate to see Dick Morris say something like this, given that he's always WRONG."

Afraid that hasn't changed. Hillary will be the Democratic opponent in 2008.

"If we get a RINO or a senator or both to choose from, she just might. Never thought I'd say that but the base is going to stay home if that is the best republicans can do."

I'm plenty scared that Hillary can be the next president, but this is one fear I don't have. If Hillary is on the ticket, the Republican base will not need a good candidate---they will not stay home.

"Hillary has all the money. Hillary has the name recognition. Hillary has the people in place. Hell, the female half of the Democratic Party will vote for 100% for the sole reason that she allegedly lacks a penis!

There is no Democrat that can even dream of stopping her from getting the nomination if she wants it. She's the party gorilla."

Agreed. Add to your reasons the fact that the Democratic Party is becoming somewhat Marxist in character. In effect, she presides over the Central Committee.

"Reccomendations? Specificaly, whom do you find a feasible winner while maintain a good conservative stance?"

George Allen?

Well, I consider myself part of the base.  I will not support a senator or a RINO, like McPain.  I will not go for the lesser of evils and I'm not going to contribute in pushing the party closer to the center.

Hillary will get the Democrat nomination in 2008. Her chances of beating the Republican nominee will depend on how many one issue conservatives stay home rather than vote for a Republican they don't agree with 100%.

That's all the story there is.
