Donate a 8" block and ship it to DC and you are in.

Do you realize how cool it would be if every person p*ssed off about this sh*t (illegal Aliens/wide open borders) actually shipped a cinderblock to the capitol? just a thought

After some quick and sketchy research....it looks like it would cost around $10.00 to send one brick via USPS. A cinderblock would be cool but expensive.

1000's of bricks showing up in the capitol mailroom would be fricken awesome!

More to come and how you can get in on this great idea!

Yep... I think that was supposed to remain a "test" site with the official website coming online sometime in the next 24 hours.

BTW... Lowes has these:

Listed at $.58 a piece.

Donate to the building of an actual border fence at BoderFenceProject.com too.

UPS is the best option. Based on .58 for a brick at Lowes, total cost with shipping is less than $7. Oh, don't worry; they'll take them.

I don't think it will do any good. I admire your sentiment, but honestly I don't think that Pres. Bush is neglecting his base. Folks, I genuinely believe that this problem has gone on for so long, that our borders have been so neglected by Republicans and Dems for so long, that there's really no going back.

Bush is just doing the only thing he can do: admit defeat by making the illegals legal.

Now, I think that we CAN secure our borders, but the illegals that are here? There's just too many to send back. Folks, I'm conservative, and I think that they're breaking the law, but this situation is worse than prohibition...

It might no do any good. Or, it could wake them up a bit. End handouts for illegals, punish empoyers who hire illegals, and make it harder for them to come here and the problem cures itself.

But first, we need to let Congress know that we are not going to put up with it. Letters, faxes, and phone calls are just too easy for them to ignore. Shy of a couple million of us showing up on their lawn, this is about the best idea we've come up with yet.

From texas_mustang_01 on ARFCOM:

SEND-A-BRICK.COM UPDATE

Alright, because we have 100 different opinions on here I made an executive decision.

Because of the gripes that May 5th was too soon, I changed it to May 30th, Memorial Day.

That gives about 2 months for PHASE 1. I think that's a good time span to get the word out and the bricks to be delievered.

PHASE 2-3 will be the summer campaign. (But, remember Congress goes on vacation in the summer)

I'm thinking:
Phase 2 - June 1st to July 4th
Phase 3 - July 4th - Sept 11th

As said before this needs to happen NOW while the iron is hot and the issue is being debated. That means you start in May and it might all be over. Setting a timeline in the first place gives people motivation to get their bricks in before that date. Make it too long and it will be ignored up until the end date.

If you absolutely hate this, please let me know. But I think this will be better for everyone.

PLEASE READ THE WEBSITE & THIS POST BEFORE YOU POST. We're answering questions that have already been addressed.

Thanks

Send our pols a note and a Mexican flag..........Only with a big red circle and a slash mark on the face of "VIVA MEXICO" ......else the idiots would think they'd best cater to the illegals.

True........the vote-sappy Hyphenate-Fellaters are all puckered up, as we type, waiting to "service" hyphenates in exchange for campaign contributions.

You could paint a Mexican flag on one side of the brick and a US flag on the other with a note to tell them which way the brick is supposed to face.

Send our reps Mexican flags with a note attached: "Viva Mexico".............Ooooh, I like this idea. Or we can wrap a Mexican Flag around the cinderblock and then send both.

Okay by me.........And maybe include a pair of red and green embroidered kneepads-----the vote-sappy Hyphenate-Fellaters are on their knees, all puckered up, as we type, waiting to "service" hyphenates in exchange for campaign contributions.

I think I'll just copy that post and email it, then send a hard copy to the people in office...I just had a fight with the USPS about a box to Alaska, so I'm not about to fight with them about a brick.

Thanks for posting that!

Might I suggest the best place to send the bricks is to the RNC, with the paper stating no donations are forthcoming? If we can get through to them, something might get done.

The RNC isn't the one writing the legislation. Congress does. As an option, you CAN send more than one brick to more than one politician. Your choice.

I like this one too. Send bricks to both locations. Or send a brick to congress and a cinder block to RNC

I think that if the RNC is inundated with enough bricks, especially with the "no donation" attachment, the message might be passed on to the Congresscritters by those that pay many of the campaign bills. It was just a suggestion.
