Citizen hispanics are firm believers in the rule of law. Many of them live in crime ridden neighborhoods. Many of them know who is committing that crime and want protection as much as any other U.S. Citizen.

Law and order is a very strong issue for our team, if they'll take a stand and enforce our laws.

Illegals can't vote, and Citizens want law and order. This is a no brainer as far as I am concerned.

Does it trump this hermano/patria flag-waving stuff?

Remember, Stephen F. Austin and some other Texians tried to remain loyal citizens of Mexico, even despite the agitation of some people stirred up by Sam Houston and some of the filibusters who came to adventure in Texas; but in the end the "loyalists" lost when Santa Anna gave in to his inclination and, listening to people like General Mier and Don Lucas Alaman, picked up the sword and determined to drive the Texians out of Mexican territory with the scourge of war.

He did that really well, until he got whipped.

The Navarros and Seguins, OTOH, adhered to the constitutionalist/revolutionary cause, and they may have come to regret it later when they were hard-used by latecomers who didn't know or care who they were or what they'd contributed.
