Thousands of immigrants gathered at rallies across the state Monday as part of a national day of action billed as a campaign for immigrants dignity.
Police estimated that some 4,000 people attended a rally outside the Capitol in Lincoln, where protesters carried U.S. flags and those from Mexico and other nations.
Shouting Si se puede! Spanish for Yes we can! the crowd in Lincoln stretched three city blocks as it approached the west side of the Capitol. They were to later march to the federal building in downtown Lincoln.
With an overhaul of immigration law stalled in Congress, demonstrators urged lawmakers to help an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants settle legally in the United States.

I was there demonstrating against a free pass for the illegals, and the newspaper reporters walked right past me

This is going to back fire against the leftists, bigtime.

I anyone told me 30 years ago that illegal aliens would be marching for equal rights I would have laughed.
Of course I was at a Mexican restaurant on Saturday and paid $60.00 for Mexican peasant food.

Senator open borders and casinos Schimek spoke to loud cheers. Also the crowd cheered for Senator Hagel's get out of jail free cards; they booed when the speakers mentioned Fortenberry and Nelson for voting for the border fence
Send in two FReepers. One with a videocamera, and another wearing an, "INS," baseball hat.
Then send the tape to the local news and post it online.
Should be revealing.

Lots of American citizens and legal immigrants are protesting too, you know?

Impersonating a federal agent is against the law.
To: RandallFlagg
we should try to that for cinco de mayo day

So what are they protesting now? Last week it was against the House bill. Then I heard they were protesting the Senate bill. It seems both bills are now dead. So what do they want this week?

Impersonating a federal agent is against the law.Federal laws get enforced on very select basis. Some don't get enforced at all.

they want all 11 million to stay legally and tuition subsidies . they seem to be doing great as now though, with nonexistent INS enforcement

Shouting Si se puede! Spanish for Yes we can! the crowd in Lincoln Hmmm this seems to be the mantra at all of the marches. Sounds very programmed and planned. susie

How does wearing a hat sold in thousands of Army surplus shops make one a criminal?

"Impersonating a federal agent is against the law."
So is crossing the border illegally. I wonder which law would top the other?

Unless HR 4437 is signed into law, I believe only one of those is a felony though ; )
