When the Minutemen set up shop at the Arizona border last year to call attention to the illegal alien loophole in US Homeland Security, President Bush foolishly chided these brave patriots by calling them vigilantes. Although chagrined at being deserted by the man who has the constitutional responsibility and authority to defend our borders, the Minutemen dug in their heels and persisted. And persisted.
Their Yankee determination to do the right thing was rewarded when President Bush finally sent additional border patrol agents to Arizona. Even the Mexican government was motivated to pay greater attention, at least temporarily, because of the due diligence of heroic Minutemen.
Before the Minuteman took their courageous stand, open border advocates and anti-American liberals insisted it was impossible to stop illegal immigration. Best to just accept reality, learn Spanish, and switch to rice and beans as food stables, according to the leftists and Hispanic racists.
Thank God, the Minutemen PROVED illegal aliens CAN be stopped, thereby delivering a great victory on behalf of all American citizens.

I believe he said
"PRESIDENT BUSH: I'm against vigilantes in the United States of America. I'm for enforcing law in a rational way."
I don't see any mention of the Minutemen
Yeah I've seen it, it's sweet. Unfortunately (IIRC) its a Class 3 firearm, and in IL we 'can't' have them. In the olden days (mid 1970's) we 'could', but that changed a while back.
Just stop. Yes, the infiltrators were an item of discussion but it barely made the radar in the MSM with just a couple of news stories. It certainly was not the subject of the question posed to the President.
"What Do You Call 500,000 Illegal Aliens Demanding Rights..."
Potential voters to our traitors in Congress.
I think there needs to be a law passed that Congressmen and Senators must wear a sign on their backs for one week per session that says "I am a servant of the American Citizen". I suspect that corporate donations to these politicians will do them no good at the voters booth in 2006 and 2008. There is a big "throw the bums out" mood going on right now.
I did a quick search of 'Minutemen and Storm Front' and all I can find are the usual DUmmies alleging such a
connection, wanting to smear the Minutemen I suppose, but they provide no real evidence of a connection.
>>The President never called them (minuteman) vigilantes
You might want to inform the White House Press Office of this "fact".
Q: And, President Bush, I wanted to ask you about your opinion about those people who are hunting migrant people along the border.
PRESIDENT BUSH: I'm against vigilantes in the United States of America.

See my previous. Stop digging.
Exactly! Also, how about invaders!
The New Great Society
No. But only the most dense don't understand the context of the question asked and what the President was specifically referring to. The ONLY people that I've experienced trying to spin this is you and one other FReeper over a year after the President made the statement. Idiots.
There is a big difference between Migrant and Immigrant! You will never solve a problem if you can not properly identify it.
The MSM keeps calling the Mexicans 'Illegal Immigrants.' That is the wrong term. They are MIGRANTS, just as Robins are migratory birds. These people have no interest in staying and putting down roots. They come here for the MONEY. They take it or send it to their *home.*
If a person wants to Immigrate to this Country and adopt our National values and language, I can accept that. If they want to Migrate here to harvest the crops, I bet that can be worked out, too. But the problem will never be solved if the ones arguing the issues do not even use the correct terminology.
Am I the only person who sees things this way?
Regards,
TL
I resent that. That malarky was used even here to paint a broad brush and has been proven to be Bravo Sierra. The Minutemen work overtime to keep out any riff raff and not just Facists.
Your rationalization in defending Bush's failed immigration policies exemplify how political correctness keeps us from enforcing our own immigration laws on the books.
You really need to rethink this. Many FReepers here obviously have.
Just look at JR's poll after poll after poll...hell, even look at the TIME poll this weekend.
You are way too smart to keep defending a failed perspective.
""I'm for enforcing the law in a rational way.""
He's a LIAR.
And trying to whitewash this as "that was about stormfront" is either disingenuous or supremely ignorant.
Bush apologist.
I thought the Minuteman Project was NOT hunting migrant people along the border?
Employers:
What Part of Illegal in Illegal Alien do YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?
Federal Immigration and Nationality Act
Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii)

IT'S AGAINST THE LAW!!!
