If Minutemen Are Vigilantes, What Do You Call 500,000 Illegal Aliens Demanding Rights?
NewsByUs.com ^ | Apr 10, 2006 | Citizen Conservative

When the Minutemen set up shop at the Arizona border last year to call attention to the illegal alien loophole in US Homeland Security, President Bush foolishly chided these brave patriots by calling them vigilantes. Although chagrined at being deserted by the man who has the constitutional responsibility and authority to defend our borders, the Minutemen dug in their heels and persisted. And persisted.

Their Yankee determination to do the right thing was rewarded when President Bush finally sent additional border patrol agents to Arizona. Even the Mexican government was motivated to pay greater attention, at least temporarily, because of the due diligence of heroic Minutemen.

Before the Minuteman took their courageous stand, open border advocates and anti-American liberals insisted it was “impossible” to stop illegal immigration. Best to just accept reality, learn Spanish, and switch to rice and beans as food stables, according to the leftists and Hispanic racists.

Thank God, the Minutemen PROVED illegal aliens CAN be stopped, thereby delivering a great victory on behalf of all American citizens.

Your user name was a child of Romanian Immigrants. I doubt anyone watching their shows could ever tell it. Not even an accient despite the fact their mother could barely speak English. That is how Samuel got his nick name Shemp. LOL.

I call it Americans finally living upto their Constitutional rights to protect and serve this country as citizens!

It's about time! And if it were my state, I'd been there too! If I lived closer.... and had the freedoms in my life right now... (OR I HAD TO) I would be at those borders too!

They are robbing us and stealing citizenry privileges! It's not right! Our Revolutionaries, and Founding Fathers didn't fight to have our own laws and our own country so that their grand children would just sit back on their Fat shiney Hind Ends and watch as the Federal Gov't did nothing!

That is what Militia/Minutemen are for... and why we have an ammendment that protects our rights to Bear arms! Against all foes... even if it means our own Federal Gov't!

Bush has repeatedly shown us that he is very much against the idea of reigning in illegal immigration. His solution to solve illegal immigration is to just make it legal.

That's not a solution... that's laying down and giving in! For Once can't this country stand up to something! If we can't stand up to Taxes, we can't stand up to outsourcing, we should at least be able to stand up to Immigrants breaking the laws!

Sheesh.... I'm sooo confused and very saddened.. that our President would do that to us! Who does he think he is??? We are Americans by birth..... we have such a right to fight against Immigration!

Very Very sad......

I always vote Constitutional if it's an option on that ballot! :)

Then I'll vote republican but only because locally they support the ammendments... sigh.... no one else really does!

When will we ever get the chance to over throw our Government and have the citizens re appoint the whole thing! Is that crazy......

Sighs... I know I'm dreaming.. .lol

Where's the 'compassion'? Gee, they only want what's yours and mine. Hey, it's their human 'right'. (According to their banners, Americans don't have a monopoly on US rights.)

Nor do they believe, in tandem with Democrats, do Americans have the right to 'squander' our welfare and freebies just on Americans.

My word!

Your obviously practiced ease with truly mendacious "special pleading" is only slightly more disturbing than your myopic pontification on what is and is not "military."

Still, I suppose your "perfumed prince" management theory of leadership does explain how you toady so well.

Travis is an imprudent man who verbally "stepped on his reproductive appendage" once too often.

Not if the post I saw is the one that got him banned. He was not advocating violence, he was predicting it based on current trends by our politicians. Two distinctly different positions.

It appears people were looking for an excuse to ban him and perverted a post by torturing the english language, grammar and common sense.

Travis even attempted to explain himself in a very polite and respectful manner...something that the Open Border's Lobby on this forum cannot seem to do. (since their positions cannot be supported by logic or facts, and they therefore resort to personal attacks and tangential, irrelevant posts and most of them even admit to committing crimes by employing illegal aliens)

He got banned for his trouble.

Get your facts straight.

Travis spammed thread after thread after thread with the same graphics, pictures and cartoons. That in itself violates FreeRepublic posting rules.

Hmmmm...have you ever visited an immigration thread that Dane is posting on?

Would you support banning Dane based on his/her repeated violations of posting rules?

Long time no see...great posts Jeff and Joanie.

It is sad to see a simple issue tearing people, a party and a Country apart.

But then we are the "great experiment" of government and when viewed through the lens of human history are merely an upstart country compared to China, Russia and Europe.

Was it Franklin and said something about having a country if we could keep it?

People entering our country illegally (after all, that is the bottom line of this issue) and our resolution to it ("our" because regardless of who is running this country and whether WE voted them in, they are still OUR representatives, and WE are still Americans) will determine whether the "great experiment" fails or not.

I'm very afraid of how History will judge Us.

I guess JR saw it differently and he is calling the shots. Lawyers cannot always have their way.

Lawyers cannot always have their way.

Just what does this have to do with anything?

I'll answer my own question for the lurkers.

This is a prime example of what I'm talking about regarding the argument style of the Open Border's Lobby. Observe that I posted no personal insults to Verity, merely requested he get his facts straight based on Travis' posts. He responds by stating that I'm still looking for trouble - a negative post with no substantive arguments which refute my assertions to him.

He then responds with the statement quoted above.

Verity,

First of all, you know I am a lawyer - but you and 99% of this board have no clue what kind of law I specialize in. Given the threats against me on certain threads, only trusted individuals whom I have met know what I do for a living.

Second, Travis isn't a lawyer, neither is Jeff or Joanie to my knowledge.

Therefore, you can only be making a veiled insult directed towards me.

Yet it is plain to anyone that has interacted with me that I have an extreme disdain for most lawyers.

Further, your comment has not one ounce of relevance to anything I posted.

So, just what are you trying to do with your comment? Are you attempting to influence the relevance or weight of my opinion in a negative manner by portraying me as a lawyer?

Could it be that you are attempting to marginalize me?

Of course that is what sleazy lawyers do, isn't it Verity?

Let's cut to the chase.

1. I am not a lawyer.
2. I do not like you.
3. JR has the the right to do as he wishes.
4. If you do not like, tough.

Again. Two sides here. Travis wasn't banned by another patriotic American. Travis was banned by a law abiding citizen with a business to run. A business that would be shut down and all of us silenced in a minute by the left forces, for doing what they do everyday. Remember, we are conservative and live in a world of double standard. Something else that requires more protest in this country in addition to the illegal issues. I regret that Travis was banned, and Jim may have sentiments for him. However, Jim has a business to run, and we need his business now more than ever. Where would we be without it?

(PT III - sorry) Just one more additon. JimRob never intended this thread to be a place where violence is advocated. If he did, we would just be another DU, and many of us wouldn't be here. There is no doubt though, our nation is on the verge of a powder keg for civil war, not something anticipated in recent years. This situation is why Jim started another thread in the past few days re-emphasizing the principles set forth for FR.
