Soldier's mother picturing his return

BATAVIA, Ohio — Nearly 30,000 pictures of Matt Maupin are circulating around Iraq, a loving effort by his parents to locate the only U.S. soldier still listed as missing since his capture two years ago.

Carolyn Maupin steadfastly hopes that someday, someone will recognize Matt, and he will come home.

She refuses to consider the alternative.

"I honestly thought he'd be back by now,"----

No, we won't forget him. What sweet people his parents are! In the middle of their grief and anxiety, they still remember to thank the troops for defending our freedom. There are no greater Americans.

His mom said she didn't open his box of belongings because his glasses are in there and she's waiting for him to come home to get his glasses.

That just tore at my heart.
