Christy Jackson does not want a teacher showing her 13-year-old son a video calling the president of the United States an ahole during class. Nor does she believe her son should be shown Internet videos which are barred to students by school system controls that use obscenities. But that is what West Limestone High School eighth grade science teacher Steve White, a Democratic candidate for the District 4 seat on the House of Representatives, is accused of doing.
My son and a group of his friends were talking about this video they had seen in school, Jackson said. One of the other students mother saw the video and she forwarded it to me. I saw it and I became livid.

When I listened to the Bennish tape that had been recorded by his student, I was pretty angry. I thought, and still think, that he should have been fired.
However, that is chump change compared to what this teacher (Steven White) is showing his students at West Limstone High School in Alabama.
You must watch the video (CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE VIDEO THAT WAS SHOWN TO THE STUDENTS)
These students are a captive audience for the shabby excuse for a teacher. You can also visit the school's website(CLICK HERE TO VISIT THE WEST LIMESTONE HIGHSCHOOL WEBSITE) , where there are links to contact school officials.

Sorry. Search engine in here just plain sucks. I did three separate searches on three separtate words because I was told too many variables will limit the search.
And my first response is a link to a previous thread on the subject. It just pisses me off. Not at you, mind you, jdm. I'm not accusing you of being the thread police.
I am just irritated at the crappy method of finding previous postings on a subject.

Trashy video especially to show to kidz. Oh, they've heard those words and a lot worse, but against our president and his cabinet in a $crew-you'll classroom is well not unreal but real because they've gotten away with it subtly for years and years so now they are coming out and being more brazen simply because they can.
He should be fired. Then the a$$hole $tudents and $ympathizers will riot, and the a$$hole wimpy principal and $chool board will make some noi$e$ and he'll be back in just like the jerk in Colorado.
I read about three intelligent, well thought out conservative comments on that forum. The overwheming majority were just more trash, driven by irrational hatred agit prop, a bunch of reall a$$hole$.

No need to apologize. This is a story that needs repeating. The big question is how many times does this or something like it go on in public schools.
It's no secret that the NEA has veered sharply to the left in the past two decades.
Hopefully this nut ruined whatever chance he had for getting elected.
It's time for an alternative to Publik Skools - vouchers now!

Don't be surprised if the principal and superintendent get a call from Fox News. This could easily be Bill O'Reilly's Talking Points memo Monday night.

Thanx for posting, I had not seen it yet!
Students should learn to just walk out of a classroom, walk to the office, call the parents to come pick them up, and not return! Hey, works for immigrant picketing!
I hope this so-called teachers' opponent gets hold of this and crucifies him! He should also be put on FBI watch.

Well, if FOX does, the left says only braindead watch FOX, I'll just have to read about it here because I can't get those programs without a dish or cable; I have neither.
I hope they take them all to the cleaners.

Thanks. I hope the first poster didn't think I was angry at him for pointing it out to me. I am one of those people...I like to follow the rules of decency and posting etiquette, and in this case, I really did try to avoid double posting.
What irritated me most was that I went through all that, then put in the post and tried to formulate decent post to read, I put some thought into it, and when I went to check the links, I accidentally closed the page out and had to put it all in again...albeit shorter (which might always be good.)
Sigh. And, I have to admit, the problem may be that I just don't understand the search functions...The problem might be found between the seat and the keyboard.

Bennish got away with it, so now every parasitic Democrat in the public school system is going to follow his lead.

Actually -- this is a very different issue in that it involves classroom use of material, as opposed to a classroom teacher's speech or voice.
That means: if this school district does have such a policy (and I am sure they do), then this teacher was violating that school board policy by showing in class a video not on the list and not pre-approved. In short, this teacher could be viewed as being insuborinate to that policy -- and I think he could get fired, easily.
Teachers are usually very careful about what materials they show students in class -- they know the school board policy on this. That's why most teachers choose a video from their own school's video library, because all those videos have been pre-approved and purchased with school funds.

Most school boards have a policy requiring ANY classroom material (video, books, etc) to be PRE-APPROVED by the local school board.

insuborinate = insubordinate
"he could get fired" / or she could get fired -- whatever -- I didn't have time to watch the video and only skimmed the posted article.

This is outrageous----I have contacted the principal through the website and asked him to contact me to explain how this fits into a science curriculum and exactly what is he going to do about it.
I doubt he emails me back, but I'm betting he has one full inbox come Monday morning
To: summer
Good point...have you ever seen something so outrageous?
Now, I know 13 year olds have a significant vocabulary of not-so-savory words, and the A word is fairly low on the list, but for a teacher to make it part of the curriculum is beyond belief.

Slow on this today. The blogosphere has it, and it's beginning. Tomorrow Shawn Hannity and Bill O'Reilly take it an national radio and TV.
It's going to be a fun week.
